The Master of Landscape Architecture programme at UPM accepts candidates with an accredited Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree or other non-landscape architecture degrees such as architecture, planning, engineering, agriculture, forestry, environmental sciences, etc. Candidates from landscape architecture and other design based bachelor degrees are eligible to apply for relevant exemption of courses under certain conditions. Candidates from non-design degrees are encouraged to take additional courses like in graphics to enhance their drawing and visual communication skills.

Candidates from foreign countries need to check with UPM Graduate School for English and other requirements. Students in MLA are required to complete a total 62 credits of mandatory coursework. It normally takes 5 semesters to complete. Students need to pay the credit and semester fees. They also need to pay for field trips and stationeries including art materials for presentations.
