This programme equips students with an advanced grounding in the principles and practice of construction project management with the overall aim of increasing their ability to contribute to project success and to enable them to undertake complex project planning that is of great relevance to the global construction environment. The course imparts concepts, tools and techniques as well as soft skills applied in managing construction, building and infrastructure projects from the earliest stages of commencement and development through to operations and maintenance.

Project management offers enticing career advancements as skilled project managers are viewed as critical success factor to construction and engineering projects. Project managers play a key role in areas of project as building, infrastructure, engineering, oil and gas and so on. Given this breadth of opportunity, this MSc has been designed to ensure that the key principles you will acquire are specialised in engineering, oil and gas, or construction firms.

Our graduates are now working within industry as gain employment in many different types of positions and organisations as, in project teams or in staff positions related to the project development, project selection, planning, evaluation and/or management, project specialist, work package coordinator, project administrator, and project support officer. Others are working as consultants, and has continued at USM as a PhD student.
