    TOEFL Score Range

    The TOEFL score range of 0-30. The total TOEFL score is 0-120. This denotes that candidates can score a maximum of up to 120. The TOEFL iBT scoring using a combination of automated AI Scoring and Certified Human Raters. Only the Reading and Listening sections are scored only by computer.     How to Receive TOEFL Result?

    Candidates receive their TOEFL exam results within 6 days of taking their TOEFL test. They will receive a mail stating the release of their TOEFL score card. Candidates need to access it through iBT TOEFL result login to their official site or through the TOEFL official app. Candidates can download the PDF of their TOEFL score reportform which is available within 8 days of the test. Candidates who have requested a paper copy of their TOEFL band score report form will receive it within 11 days of the test.

    TOEFL Results Time

    TOEFL scores are available within six days after the test date. Candidates will receive an e-mail informing them that their TOEFL score result is available. To view the result, candidates need to log in to their TOEFL account on the website and click ‘view scores’ to see your scores. The official TOEFL iBT score for the Special TOEFL home edition results would receive their results in 6-10 days from the test date.

    TOEFL Score Validity

    Sending Your TOEFL Score Report

    Candidates wonder “how to send TOEFL scores to universities?” The candidate can select up to 4 institutes before the test as the amount is included in the TOEFL registration charges itself. The addition and deduction of the universities can be accessed through the ETS account. The delivery of the TOEFL score chart from the TOEFL exam centers depends on how the recipients receive the score.

    After the TOEFL Test

    During the two years of TOEFL score validity, the candidate is also allowed to order additional score reports by paying an extra US$20 per university/institution. The additional TOEFL score report can be acquired through:

    • Through ETS account: The TOEFL score report will be delivered within 3 – 5 business days by clicking on the ‘Send Additional Score Reports’;
    • By Fax: The candidate needs to fill out the ‘Additional Score Report’ PDF form on the official website. Then fill out the form along with the appointment number, then adding the card details to the concerned number. The TOEFL score report will be sent to the institute within 10 business days.
    • By Mail: In the same manner, fill out the details in the additional score report form and mail it along with the payment to the concerned address.

    How are TOEFL Scores Calculated? 

    iBT TOEFL test score is calculated by converting the raw score to a scaled score. The raw score is the total number of correct answers in each of the four sections of the TOEFL test. If a candidate has correctly answered 25 TOEFL reading questions, then the raw score is 25. Candidates only see the scaled scores in the TOEFL result. ETS has stated that each TOEFL test will have different difficulty levels. TOEFL iBT score calculation of listening and reading is different from writing and speaking tests.

    How to Opt for a Review of the TOEFL Score Report?

    The candidate can request a review only of the writing and/or speaking sections of the test within 30 days of the test. It is to be noted, the additional payment to be made for each section’s review is US$80. So, if the appeal is for the review of both sections then the amount would be US$160.

    Certain points to be noted during the review:

    1. Requests for the TOEFL score report review can be made only once.
    2. If the candidate wants both of their sections to be reviewed, namely, writing and speaking then the request has to be made at the same time and not separately.
    3. After the review, the new scores will become the official scores and the previous ones will be overlooked.
    4. If the candidate has already sent across the scores to their selected universities/institutes then the scores cannot be reviewed.

    Canceling Your TOEFL Scores

    Candidates can cancel their TOEFL scores of a particular TOEFL test must be received no later than 60 days. The reinstatement would come with a fee of US $20. Candidates can request to instate TOEFL scores through their ETS account. The process of reinstating your TOEFL exam results time would take approximately 3 weeks from the time of receiving your request and payment.

    Most universities have TOEFL requirements of 100 and above. Candidates are always suggested to aim for the TOEFL highest score when setting their goal score.
