Nata 2023 is divided into two sections: Section A comprises Drawing Based-Test that a candidate has to take in the offline mode. In Section B, it includes Maths and General Aptitude Section. This section is conducted in online mode. The questions asked are of objective type, i.e. candidates are required to select one correct option. The best part of this entrance exam is that there is no negative marking. Therefore, candidates can attempt all the questions without a fear of marks deduction.
In this paper, candidates are required to attempt three drawing questions in a duration of 135 minutes.
Go for live sketching every alternate day to practice the frequently asked perspective questions from previous years’ sample papers. Practice all the perspective questions which you come across.
Practice human figures as they are an important part of most of the perspective questions.
Get acquainted with all the famous logos and their history. The more you practice, the better you’ll design logos! Play with different color schemes like primary, complementary, monochrome, analogous, etc.
Learn the shadow, shade, and material rendering techniques from online videos.
In this section, an aspirant must keep his/her General Knowledge updated.
A candidate must have knowledge on various topics such as Important Architects of India and World, Logical Reasoning Ability Questions, Buildings in India and the World, Common Architectural Terminology, Building Materials, and Terminology, What is 2D, What are 3 Dimensional objects and their plans and elevations, etc.
Try to solve the non-verbal reasoning section from “A Modern Approach to Verbal and non-verbal reasoning” by RS Agarwal. Solve it using a time limit like 15-30 seconds per question.
For PCM Subject, Candidates can go through CBSE, NCERT Books.
For Mathematics, revise basic math formulas like profit and loss, area, ratio and proportion, percentage, speed and distance, probability, work and remuneration, interest, pipe, and cistern, etc.
For Physics, revise topics such as Current Electricity, Optics, Electronic Devices, etc.
For Chemistry, revise topics such as Algebra, Matrices, Permutations and Combinations, Statistics, and much more.
The Mathematics portion is comparatively easy and there will be high chances to score well in this section.
At first, the reviewer will see the correctness in proportions and scale. For example, the proportion of human w.r.t. A shop or a tree or any other object).
How much detail can a candidate add to a particular object/element which shows the observation skills.
Correctness in establishing eye level.
Whether all the lines in your drawing have the correct diverge and perspective to the vanishing point in the right direction.
Try to avoid logotypes.
The logo must be simple, catchy, and minimal.
Quality of Colouring
Colour Combinations play a major role. Always use fewer number colors. If not mentioned/specified, don’t use more than 3 or 4 colors.
Innovation in composition from simple design or shapes.

Scale and proportions of objects with respect to each other.

Correctness in shade and shadow of an object in accordance with angle, type, and direction of light source.
Begin your preparation with the perspective/memory drawing question. Take 5 minutes and decide your eye level and view. So not begin sketching directly. Try to complete your drawing in 35 minutes. If you are unable to complete it, leave that question and move on to the next question.
For 2 Dimensional, Sketch roughly on a piece of paper first and then on your main drawing sheet. Try not to take more than 10 minutes. Color it in the next 15 minutes and move ahead to the next question.
For 3 Dimensional, complete the pencil sketch in 10 minutes and the remaining 15-20 minutes should be for shadow/texture, etc as per the requirement of the question.
At last in 15 minutes give a final touch-up or anything which you have left out in any of the questions. Try to solve previous years’ sample papers by setting the time limits. You can adjust and set your time limits at your convenience.

Aspirants must start their preparation by maintaining a timetable. Go through the Syllabus, make a strategy and stay focused and study well.
Understand the Exam Pattern of NATA 2023, the distribution of marks, the pattern of questions, number of questions asked in the exam.
Practice more and more Mock Tests, Previous years’ sample papers/Question papers. As it is said to be an effective success mantra.
