MAT 2023 Counselling : Dates, Selection Procedure and Seat Allotment

    MAT 2023 Counselling will comprise of 2-3 rounds of Group Discussions, Personal Interviews and/ or Written Ability Tests. As AIMA does not conduct any centralized counseling process, participating B-schools determine their own cutoff and admission process. More than 600 institutes participate in MAT Counselling process. 

    • MAT 2023 Result will be released in the third week of March 2023 for the Feb session exams. Candidates can also check results of previous 4 administrations (sessions) on mat.aima.in. 
    • Colleges that accept MAT scores release a separate merit list and shortlisted candidates are sent their call letters on email. Check MAT Cutoff for Top MBA Colleges 
    • The scorecard is auto-sent to the college(s) opted by the candidate in the application form.

    MAT 2023 Selection Procedure

    There are more than 600 B-schools in the country that accept MAT score. However the process of selection varies institute wise. Some may conduct all the three rounds and some might conduct only two before the final selection. MAT Selection Procedure involves 3 basic steps:

    How to Participate in the Selection Rounds of MAT 2023?

    To participate in the different rounds of Selection Procedure, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps :

    1. Candidates need to register at AIMA to send their MAT 2023 scores to 5 different institutes. These institutes will be selected during the filing of the application form. 

    2. After the declaration of MAT 2023 result, candidates can apply at the official website of their preferred institute by sending their MAT scorecard.

    3. Selected candidates will receive a call for interview from the institute(s) they have applied to. 

    4. Depending upon the selection process of that specific college, candidates will undergo rounds like - GD/PI/WAT. 

    5. Candidates clearing all the rounds will be selected for admission.

    Candidates shortlisted for admission through MAT 2023, will receive call letters on their registered email ID. The details mentioned on the call letter are :

    Q&A on MAT 

    Ques. How will I get to know if i have been shortlisted for any B-School after my MAT result?

    Ans. You will be required to send your MAT Score to any 5 institutes during the application period. They will notify you via email and SMS if you get shortlisted by the exam authorities. Further rounds of selection that are conducted separately by all MAT Colleges include a written ability test, group discussion, and personal interview.

    What are the Factors on which Selection depends?

    Selection of the candidates depend on the following factors :

    • MAT 2023 Exam Score
    • Date of Birth – If two candidates have the same cutoff in the merit list then DOB benefit will be given to the older candidate
    • NRI Candidates
      • If a candidate is son/daughter of NRI personnel then he/she must hold a valid passport to fulfill the NRI quota process.
      • 5% of seats are reserved for these candidates.
      • Incase there is non availability of NRI candidates, then the seats will be filled through general intake.

    • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks.
    • Candidate should hold a valid MAT score
    • Academic performance and work experience will be considered
    • Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for personal interview and other evaluation components involved in the selection procedure.

    Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai

    • Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks from a recognized Institute ( minimum marks required for SC/ST candidates is 45%)
    • Candidate should have valid MAT score and minimum score required in MAT 2023
    • There is no need to apply separately for this institute, as the admission will be handled by the CAP itself.
    • Candidates having work experience will be preferred over the ones who have zero experience.

    Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore

    • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks (minimum marks required for SC/ST is 45%).
    • Candidate should have valid MAT score with 70% marks work experience and participation in extracurricular activities will be given additional weightage during the selection process

    • Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks (minimum marks required for SC/ST is 45%)
    • Selected candidates will have to appear for PI and GD Final selection depends upon the performance in Test, GD,PI and academic performance.
