DET Registration Process

DET online registration by any candidate from anywhere around the world through the Duolingo English Test website. There is no strict age restriction for taking Duolingo English Test. Only candidates under 13 need to take parental consent for taking Duolingo English Test. Candidates can take the Duolingo English Test immediately after registration. It should be noted that there are no particular test dates for the Duolingo English Test. The following are the steps for DET online registration:

1. Step 1: Visiting the Duolingo English Test website: Candidates need to visit the Duolingo English Test website as their first step. Then proceed to the ‘Take the test’ page which is the first step of registration.

2. Step 2: Duolingo English Test​ for PC: Beside the ‘Take the Test’ option candidates will find the ‘Download’ option. Candidates need to go DET website on their computer. On successful login, they can take the test.
3. Step 3: Checking the Requirements: Duolingo English Test has some requirements in terms of documents, and the test area. Test-takers should keep either their passport or driving license or government ID handy. The test area shouldn’t have any other person and also must be a silent and well-lit room.

4. Step 4: Testing Microphone, speaker, and taking photo: The DET online registration will check the microphone, speaker, and camera before starting the test. The candidate’s photo will be taken as well.

5. Step 5: Uploading Documents: After properly providing your age, name, email ID, and other details, candidates need to upload the required documents. For Duolingo English Test, the mandatory documents include any of the three - Driving license, Passport, or Government issues ID.

6. Step 6: Taking a Photo of ID: Candidates need to hold their ID properly before the camera for identification purposes. They cannot hold the ID next to their face, or tilt it as well.

6. Step 7: Creating an Account: In the next step, the candidates need to create an account by providing their name, address, age, email id, and password. Then click on ‘next’. Proper information should be entered for future Duolingo English Test login.
7. Step 8: Choose ‘what are you interested in?’: Proceeding from it, on the next page, the candidate will be asked a question - ‘What are you interested in?’. The candidate needs to choose from the following options as the answer:

• School building
• Undergraduate university admissions
• Graduate admissions (ex: MBA, PhD)
• Middle or high school admissions
• Applying for a job or promotion
• None of the above

9. Step 9: Select the correct option: From the above-mentioned options, the candidate needs to select the correct one based on their requirement. Then they can create their Duolingo English Test account.
10. Step 10: Payment: The last step requires candidates to pay the Duolingo English test fee of $49 or INR 4,054 after purchasing the test.

DET Online Registration Rules

The Duolingo English Test guidelines are stricter since it's an online test, which is intended to deter pupils from cheating. Duolingo English Test takes pride in its strict security procedures, which it uses to persuade colleges of its dependability by:

• Utilising computer vision and AI (artificial intelligence) together to confirm the test-identity taker's
• If a student attempts to visit a different browser while taking the test, it will be cancelled automatically.
• giving the colleges a video and written sample from each applicant's session to provide them a thorough understanding of the applicant's language competence
  
  The guidelines for the Duolingo English Test, which students must follow while taking it, are as follows:
• The test-taker must be alone themselves in a dark, empty space.
• Throughout the whole test, the student's ears and face must be exposed and plainly visible.
• No earbuds or headphones are allowed during the test.
• Examinees are not permitted to have any nearby external materials, like a notebook, electronics, or textbooks.
• During the test, participants are not permitted to converse with anybody.
• No time throughout the test is allowed for test-takers to glance away from the screen.
• You may not, under any circumstances, close the test window in your web browser.

Note: Any of the above regulations that you break while taking the exam will automatically result in the proctor invalidating your score. The Duolingo English Test taker may also be permanently prohibited from taking it, depending on how serious the offence was.

Documents Required for DET Registration

The Duolingo English Test registration requires appropriate documentation. The necessary documents required often differ from country to country. The table below are the identity proofs needed for some of the countries. 

DET Registration Eligibility 

There are no strict requirements for taking the Duolingo English Test. Candidates don’t have to produce any academic transcript for DET Eligibility. The candidate only needs to have either of the three documents for registration purposes - Passport or Driving License or Government-issued ID. There is also no age restriction for taking Duolingo English Test. Only candidates under 13 need to take parent consent for taking the test. Duolingo English Test has no strict academic qualification requirement as well.
