    DU JAT 2022 result has been published on the official website. Candidates can check the result by entering their form number and date of birth. The process to check and download the result are as follows:

    • A new browser window will open

    • This will take you to the Merit List which is displayed in form of a PDF

    DU JAT Score Calculation

    DU JAT Score Calculation

    The entrance exam is conducted for 400 marks. Each correct answer will be awarded with four marks and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The question paper are prepared in multiple series and each series is different from another. So, a normalization process is carried out to make the calculation unbiased and fair. Normalisation is done using an equi-percentile method. The percentile derived from these processes are finally used to calculate the rank of each candidate. The rank of the candidates is based on the total number of candidates appeared, average score, level of difficulty of entrance exam and the highest score secured.

    DU JAT Normalisation Process

    In the entrance exam the question papers are prepared in four series and each series are different from each other. In order to make the calculation process fair the scores are calculated through normalization process. The final rank is prepared after concluding the normalization of marks. The normalisation process is done by the following method:

    • To adjust the difficulty level of question paper of all the series the scores are normalised and then a final rank is allotted to every candidate
    • The scores are normalised using an equi-marginal method
    • The equi marginal method is calculated as Equi-percentile score= {[(Total no. of candidates in a shift) – (score of the candidate in the shift)] / (Total no. of candidates – 1)} x 100

    Tie-Breaking Procedure

    If two or more candidates gets a same rank then the following methods are applied to decide the superiority:

    • Candidates who are having more marks in class 12(best four subjects) are given priority

    • Candidates having greater score in best five subjects in class 12 are considered first in the tie up list
    • Candidates who are senior in terms of age are considered superior
    • Candidates having more marks in the entrance test enjoys priority in the merit list in case of a tie.

    DU JAT admission will be based on the rank in a competitive examination, which is constructed on the basis of marks secured in DU JAT 2022, Group Discussion and Interview.
    DU JAT 2022 will be of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) conducted offline.

    Seats under general category will comprise of all students who have achieved a higher rank in merit list regardless of their category (General / OBC / ST / SC). Merit List for Reserved category will have been made as per the reservation rules and seats allotted to a particular category. Separate merit list will be prepared for the reserved category.

    Cut off for admission to DU colleges will be declared time to time with the procedure of admission and seats for admission remain vacant. Under DU JAT many colleges of the University of Delhi participate and offer some courses and programs. Every college has its own eligibility criteria and also it has its own cut off as per seats available for the course and programs. Centralized Cut off is announced by DU after the declaration of Merit.

    DU JAT Counselling

    Candidates who achieve a higher rank in the merit list, get the first chance for counselling. In the first session of counselling, admission is reserved as per the offer of the institutions and choices of candidates. After the first session of counselling, a new cut off list is released on the official website of DU for admission to the remaining seats.

    Rank holder candidate, whose rank is lying under that cutoff, will be eligible for the next counselling session. This way for remaining seat cutoff will be announced for a 3rd counselling session. This will continue until the seats are available for admission and admission session is not over. There will be 3 counselling sessions in an admission procedure.

    Counselling session is the final round for admission. The candidate will have to present:

    • Original Academic documents
    • Proof of Category
    • DU JAT scorecard
    • DU JAT Admit Card
    • 5 Self Photographs
    • Photocopy Set of all documents

    After counselling, the seat will have to be reserved by depositing admission fee, original documents with admission form and other charges within the stipulated time in the office of the particular college.

    What after the declaration of DU JAT Result 2022?

    Candidates need to complete the admission formalities at the colleges within the specified time-frame. Candidates allotted colleges and courses are required to provide the necessary documents at the time of admission. Applicants should take a printout of the registration form and list of necessary documents or certificates and proceed to the respective colleges for document verification. Candidates need to pay the required fees for admission after the college/department approves their application.
