    Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the class 12 board examination can apply for DU JAT 2022. The exam will be conducted for admission in certain colleges of Delhi University for admission in undergraduate programs of business management and business economics. The minimum score in the qualifying examination i.e. class 12 should be at least 60% to appear for DU JAT. The selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the entrance test

    Delhi University Joint Admission Test (JAT) 2022 is a national level entrance test. It is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The purpose of this test is to provide admission to the candidates into the undergraduate course like BMS, BBA, BA (H) Business Economic in the 16 colleges affiliated with Delhi University. The test mainly comprises four subjects: General English, Quantitative Ability, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, and Business & General Awareness.

    DU JAT Detailed Eligibility Criteria

    The National Testing Agency defines the rules and criteria to be considered while granting admissions to the candidates. The essential criteria are mentioned below:

    • Candidates must have a minimum qualification of Class 12 examination from any recognized board/university of India.
    • Candidates must not have any backlogs in any of their previous examinations.
    • There is no age limit mentioned by NTA for appearing for the examination.
    • Candidates belonging to the general category are required to secure a minimum of 60% of total marks in aggregate in their class 12 examination.
    • Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST, CW, and PwD are expected to attain a minimum of 55% of total marks in aggregate for their Class 12 examination.
    • Candidates belonging to the OBC category are expected to secure a minimum of 54% of total marks in aggregate in their class 12 examination.
    • Candidates waiting for their Class 12 examination result can also apply.

    Number of Subjects in Qualifying Examination

    There are mainly five subjects in the class 12 board examination. The candidates are required to pass in all five subjects with an aggregate of 60% marks. However, DU JAT considers the percentage made out of calculating the best four subjects only. 35% weightage is from class 12 marks and 65% from the entrance examination. So, to secure a good rank in DU JAT the students shall secure around 75-80% marks in class 12 considering the best four subjects.

    There are different categories of reservation in the admission process of DU JAT. Apart from SC/ST/OBC/EWS there is a reservation system for minority quota students. Candidates who belong to Sikh and Christian minorities can avail the reservation benefits. It is not necessary for such candidates to be a domicile of Delhi. Candidates from any part of the country can apply under the minority category. However, Kashmiri migrants are provided with another specific reservation. So the students of said category belonging to Kashmir can decide their category and can apply accordingly.

    DU JAT Eligibility: Other Reservation Criteria

    In the merit based admissions there are eight categories termed as ‘supernumerary’ under which relaxation of marks is provided. All those courses in which there is merit-based admissions these(below mentioned) categories are applicable. 

    • PwD(Person with Disability)
    • Kashmiri Migrants
    • Children/widow of armed forces personnel including para military forces
    • Nominated Sikkimese Students
    • ECA(Extra Curricular Activities

    Category Based Reservation

    DU JAT Eligibility: Category Based Reservation

    • As per the authority norms, 27% of total seats are reserved for the OBC category candidates. These candidates are also given absolute liberty on the marks secured in the examination. 10% relaxation on the minimum score requirement is given to the candidates belonging to the OBC category.
    • As per the authority norms, 15% of total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes, and 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes. The above figures are interchangeable as per the requirement. Therefore, 22.5% of the total seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes category candidates. A 5% relaxation on the score obtained is given for the candidates' minimum eligibility criteria belonging to the ST/SC category.
    • EWS (Economically Weaker Section)- As per the authority norm, 10% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the EWS category.
    • Less than 5% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to people with benchmark disability, for widows or children of Personnel of Armed Forces, Kashmiri migrants, nominated Sikkimese students, ward quota or Prime Minister's Special Scholarship for Jammu and Kashmir by the Delhi University.

    DU JAT 2022 admissions will start soon after the declaration of results. The results are likely to be declared in the month of July, 2022. Candidates who will be eligible according to the cut off will have to apply online for counselling. The cut off list will be prepared on the basis of rank secured in DU JAT. While preparing the rank list, 65% weightage will be given to the entrance exam and 35% weightage will be given to the marks secured in class 12 board examination.

    DU JAT 2022 Counselling

    DU JAT 2022 counselling will be conducted in three rounds.The counselling will be conducted online as it will be difficult to arrange spot counselling. Candidates will have to submit all the documents for verification and lock their choices according to their rank. 

    The required set of documents are mentioned below:

    • Class 10 certificate indicating the date of birth and parents' name
    • Class 12 Marksheet
    • SC/ST/OBC/EWS/CW/KM certificate (if applicable)
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate (if applicable)
    • Income Certificate (if applicable)
    • EWS certificate issued by the competent authority

    Any further communication required to be made from the authoring body will be done through the dashboard.

    DU JAT 2022 Confirmation of admission

    The authorities shall communicate confirmation of admission through the dashboard. The link provided to the candidate is to pay the college fees within 24 hours of admission approval and save a copy of the acknowledgment slip. Fee payment can be made using the online portal or any other mobile wallet.
