Executive MBA Human Resource Management: Admission Process 

Executive MBA in HR is a specialized executive MBA course, the admission for which requires an entrance exam and a personal interview. The most common entrance exams which have universal validity are GMAT, CAT, XAT, and GRE. At the same time, an admission form has to be submitted on the institute’s website stating details like schooling, undergraduate degree, and work experience. Some colleges also require the candidate to submit an SOP (Statement of Purpose), which is basically a document detailing why one would like to pursue that course.

Post this, the qualifying candidates are called for a personal interview after which the final results are declared.

Eligibility

Executive MBA Human Resource Management: Eligibility Criteria 

  • A candidate who has completed an undergraduate degree of at least 3 years from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. Some institutes also have restrictions on the courses of the undergraduate degree
  • A candidate who has a minimum of 5 years of work experience, either managerial or supervisory in any field. Part time work experience is not acceptable. Some institutes also have a bar lower than 5 years but the general profile of top institutes has at least 5-8 years of work-experience.

  • CAT: Also known as the Common Admission Test, the CAT exam is conducted by the IIMs of the country every year for admission to its courses. The exam is 180 minutes long with time restrictions on each section
  • XAT: Also called Xavier Admission Test, the exam is similar to CAT but it has one additional section - General Awareness, although its score is not included in the final percentile. This exam is also 180 minutes with no breaks and time restrictions on each section.
  • GRE: The Graduate Record Examination is an international level test that prospective postgraduate students take. While it takes close to a month for the CAT and XAT results to be out, one can immediately see the tentative result of GRE after giving the test.
  • GMAT: The Graduate Management Admission Test is an exam made purely for those looking to do a diploma or degree in management. It is an international test and is the most commonly accepted management test in the world. There are 3 sections in the test which lasts for 3 hours and 7 minutes.
