When to do BVoc

  • A candidate can immediately begin this course immediately after the completion of their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidates with 3 years diploma  after 12th are also eligible to study the course
  • The syllabus requires the candidates to focus entirely on both the particle as well as the theoretical aspects of the course. Candidates who are willing to devote enough time in all the parts, only then they should take up the course.
  • Also getting admission in the top colleges can be a bit difficult. Thus, the candidates are required to devote enough time in the preparation for  the entrance exam, to get into the top colleges. Thus, it would be ideal to pick up the course only if they have ample preparation.

B Voc Admission Process

Usually, the admissions are conducted either through a merit-based process or entrance-based. The majority of the institutes prefer merit-based admissions but there are some universities that prefer entrance-based admissions.

For instance, Cochin University of Science and Technology - [CUSAT], Kochi, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) are those universities that admit candidates based on the performance of the entrance exam followed by counseling.

BVoc Eligibility

The Eligibility criteria for the B Voc Courses varies slightly from one university to another, however the basic requirements  remain the same for the majority of the institutions.

  • The candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Although the UGC has not mandated any cutoff score but ideally the universities colleges the candidate should have 50-55% marks in their 12th.
  • Candidates having a diploma degree after Matric qualification are also eligible.
  • Candidates having level 3 certification by NSQF along with Matric qualifications alone are also eligible

Apart from the general eligibility criteria some of the colleges follow slightly different rules for admission to the different specializations. Some of them are mentioned below

  • In the case of admission to the B Voc in Healthcare Management in Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi , the candidates will be screened on the basis of best of four marks obtained by the candidate in the 12th with english being the compulsory subject. An extra weightage of 2% in the marks will be given to the candidates who had biology or Biotechnology in their 12th. And 1% weightage will be given to the candidates who had home science. 
  • In case of admission to the Pramukh Swami Science & H.D. Patel Arts College, preference in admission is given to the candidates who have belong to the local communities. And preference will be given to the working professionals who are looking for reentry in the academic field.

B Voc Admission 2023

The admission session to the B Voc Colleges mainly commences during the month of May or June in India. However, this year the admission has been stalled due to the second wave of the covid 19 pandemic. B Voc admission 2022 is expected to start as soon as the class 12 results are released by the major boards. 

Admissions are done mostly on the basis of merit list however, some of the top institutes prefer to admit the candidates on the basis of entrance exam score.

The following are some of the general steps that the candidates should take for the admission process.

  • The candidates are required to visit official websites of the colleges where they want to take admission and check out the eligibility criteria and the mode of admission (merit based or Entrance exam based)
  • After finding the admission admission mode the candidates are required to follow the following steps
  • Merit Based Admission
    • For admission on the basis of merit, the candidates are required to qualify the 10+2 examination or diploma with certain marks as mentioned by different institutes.
    • After that the candidates are required to register themselves on the website of the particular college and develop a login ID.
    • After that the candidates must fill up the application form and submit the necessary documents. The candidates must then submit the application fee and take out a receipt.
    • Institutes will evaluate the students based on their previous academic records and release a merit list of the shortlisted students
    • The selected students will have to pay the initial amount on accepting the admission offer and also to secure their position.
  • Entrance-based Admission

    • In case of entrance based admission the candidates will need to find the agency that conducts the admission test and register on their official website
    • Then they are required to fill up the application form and upload the required documents. 
    • The candidates are required to pay for the application form (through online or offline mode) and take out the receipt of the application form and appear for the entrance 
    • The institute or the agency will release a cut-off and the candidates clearing the cut-off will be shortlisted.
    • The candidates will then be invited for counseling, wherein they can choose their preferred discipline and go do document verification.
    • Once they pay the initial amount, they will be admitted into the following courses.
