Located in Srinagar, the Directorate of Distance Education, Kashmir University was established in 1976. The university imparts education in different courses through Open and Distance Learning Mode. At present, The University offers Ungergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and certificate courses in various Disciplines. The university offers only B.Ed at UG level and currently, only certificate course is Kashmiri is available. Kashmir University Distance Education will be introducing more UG and certificate programs in near future. PG programs at Directorate of Distance Education, Kashmir University includes MA, MSc, MAUR, M.Com, MAIS, M.Ed programs. Further, the university also offers several Diploma in disciplines of Science, Management and Arts.

Admissions to all courses are done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. The admission process is conducted every year in the month of June-July. Kashmir University Distance Education B.Ed Admission 2023

Kashmir University Distance Education offers 2 years B.Ed courses through distance mode with a total intake capacity of 3600. Candidates are selected on merit basis.

Kashmir University Distance Education PG Admission 2023

Kashmir University Distance Education offers 2 years PG programs MA, MSc, MAUR, M.Com, MAIS, and M.Ed programs. The intake capacity for all PG programs is 200 but for MAUR the intake capacity is 700. The eligibility criteria, selection criteria for Directorate of Distance Education, Kashmir University PG programs is given below:

M.Com	B.Com/BBA/BBM/BBS degree OR B.A. /B.Sc. degree with P.G. diploma in Accountancy/ Cost Accountancy/ Cost & Management Accountancy with at least 40% marks in Qualifying exam.
M.Ed	B.A under 10+2+3 pattern with Education as one of the subjects having secured at least 40% marks or B.Ed. with 50% marks. 70% seats shall be reserved for the candidates with Education as one of the subjects in their Graduation and 30% for B.Ed candidates.

At the Diploma level, the university also offers 10 diploma courses for the duration of 1 year through distance mode. The intake capacity for all Diploma courses is 100 but for DUJ it is 30 and for DCLP it is 50. The table below displays some of the basic data related to the course.

DWB (Diploma in Web Design)	3 years graduation with 50% marks in aggregate in case of open merit and 45% for reserved categories at the qualifying examination.
DBE (Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship)	graduate in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with at least 40% marks from University of Kashmir or any other examination recognized by the University of Kashmir as equivalent
DHS (Diploma in Home Science)	must have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com examination under 10+2+3 pattern with at least 40% marks from University of Kashmir or any other examination recognized by the University of Kashmir as equivalent
DUJ (Diploma in Urdu Journalism)	Graduation under 10+2+3 pattern having secured at least 45% marks for general category and 40% for other categories with Urdu as one of the subjects at 10th / 12th level and having secured at least 40% marks. However, 50% seats shall be reserved for the candidates having graduated with Urdu as one the subject.
DPPTT (Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher’s Training)	The in-service teachers having passed the 10+2 examination with minimum of 40% marks and have put in at least two years of continuous service in the Government or private, Govt. recognized school/institution at the time of submitting the application form are eligible. Or 45% marks or above in aggregate in the 10+2 examination shall also be eligible for seeking admission to the course. Admission will be open for both freshers and in-service teachers.
DCLP (Diploma in Consumer Law and Practice)	Graduation in (Arts / Science / Commerce / Engineering / Agriculture/Forestry /Medicine / Pharmacy)/or Graduate in any other discipline with at least 45% marks for OM category and 40% for other categories.
