NICMAR was established in 1982 and the institute is recognized by Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). The NICMAR reviews at collegedunia, indicates that the institute has a good infrastructure along with a good hostel facility. The institute accepts the application for admission to the full time 2 years and 1 year PGP course and the students with a graduation degree in Engineering/Architecture/Planning can apply for admission.

Admission will be based on the performance in NCAT, conducted by the Institute along with the Personal Interview. CAT/GATE/GMAT/CMAT qualified candidates will be exempted from the Institution’s Entrance Examination. NICMAR invites application for admission to the Executive Post Graduate Programme. The admission to the course will be based on the performance in NCAT/CAT/GATE/GMAT/CMAT along with the interview and application rating. Students holding a graduation degree will be eligible for admission to the course.

It’s better to do an MS from US as you will get better exposure compared to NICMAR. Their practical approach to studies like labs and internships will help you a lot in your career. You will get better career options after completing an MS in the US. Since the degree is valid all across the US as well as the world. You don’t need to give any other qualifying examination for working anywhere. The yearly salary for MS degree holders in the USA is around $73,900 ( ~INR 54,31,413). While NICMAR is well-known for management studies in the field of Civil Engineering. But they offer MBA rather than M.Tech or ME degrees. Also, NICMAR is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research organization by the Govt. of India. None of the degrees offered by the institute is AICTE approved.

Is it worth going to NICMAR after 4 years of experience?

An experience of 4.5 years is excellent in its own way. Just be sure about your current and expected CTC during the placement process. Getting the same CTC even after the post-graduation would be a waste of time. It's a gamble if you're willing to make it. There are students who join just after two years of experience and get better pay, so should you after your 4 years of experience. If you wish to join to learn, then go ahead, but if the salary is your only concern, then rethink your decision twice.
