MBBS course requires a pass in HSC with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates are selected on the basis of NEET UG score. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31. NEET UG is an Offline exam of 720 marks for the duration of 3.5 hours.
Selection for the Diploma courses is done on the basis of percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.

Note: 15% of the seats of MBBS program are filled through All India Quota and rest of the seats through the state quota. The Nursing courses require a good knowledge of English subject.
VIMSAR offers MD and MS programs in various specializations. Candidates should have done MBBS or equivalent from any recognized institute to take admission in the PG courses.
Final selection is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in NEET PG. It is an offline exam of 305 marks.
For 50% seats under state quota, counseling is done by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Government of Odisha on the basis of NEET PG score only. Total 53 seats are available for admission under state quota.

For MBBS program, candidates have to initially apply for NEET. After the declaration of NEET result, they can apply to the college with their NEET score.
For admissions to PG programs, the candidates can obtain the information brochure directly from the college campus. Following are the steps to apply for the PG courses:
1. Candidates have to report at the Education section to PG clerk of the institute.
2. Provide full signature & Roll Number of NEET PG in the admission attendance sheet.
3. Detach the application form and fill all the required details.
4. Deposit the Admission fees by cash, DD or Net Banking.
5. Submit a copy of the Receipt of fees deposited at the Admission Desk.
6. Receive the following documents in original from the office before leaving:
