International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility
Eligibility for B.Tech.:
- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with PCM as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
- Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English.
- Candidates should have fluency in written and spoken English.
- Candidates must not be aged more than 25 years on the date of commencement of training.
- Candidates must have an eyesight of 6/6 (with or without external aids) and no colour blindness.
- Candidates must have passed the medical examination and mandatory tests prior to joining IMI.
- Candidates must have qualified the IMU-CET examination.
Eligibility for B.Tech. Lateral Entry:
- Candidates should have passed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Marine Engineering from any Government Approved institution with at least 60% marks in aggregate and completed the Diploma within the stipulated period of 3 years.
- Candidates must have passed the 10th and 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English or in awarded Diploma.
- Candidates should be aged between 18 - 25 years as on August 1.
International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Selection Criteria
- For B.Tech. admissions, candidates are alloted seats based on the merit in the IMU-CET examination.
- Post qualifying this exam, candidates are called for the counselling round.
- During this counselling seats will be allotted based on merit secured and candidate’s preference.
Selection Criteria for B.Tech. Lateral Entry
- Candidates are selected for admissions to B.Tech (Lateral Entry) based on the performance in Pre Screening Test (PST) and Interview conducted by the Institute.
- Selected candidates then undergo a medical examination by the Directorate General of Shipping approved doctors.
- Candidates need to pay a medical examination fee directly to the doctor.
- Candidates also need to submit the report to the institute at the time of admission.
- Thus, the final selection is subject to payment of total fees, submission of original documents for verification and submission of Medical Fitness report by DG Shipping Approved Doctor.
