International Maritime Institute was established in 1991 by 12 distinguished professionals from the Maritime fraternity. The Institute is located at Greater Noida, UP. IMI is the only maritime institute in North India which conducts a 4-years B.Tech. course affiliated to IMU, Chennai.

At present, International Maritime Institute offers Pre Sea courses such as B.Tech. in Marine Engineering, B.Sc/Diploma in Nautical Science and Graduate Mechanical Engineering/ Diploma. The institute also offers Post Sea courses and Value Added Courses.

Admissions to B.Tech is done on the basis of merit in IMU CET exam followed by Counselling.
For B.Tech.(Lateral Entry), candidates are selected on the basis of performance in Pre Screening Test (PST) and Interview.
The final selection to the 2nd year of B.Tech. course is based on other factors which includes payment of total fees, submission of documents and Medical Report.
For the DNS course, candidates are granted admissions based on the merit in the OPEN-NET exam.
For the GME course, candidates are selected based on performance in Aptitude, IQ, Reasoning and Psychometric tests and interview.

International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility

Eligibility for B.Tech.:

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with PCM as compulsory subjects and obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English.
Candidates should have fluency in written and spoken English.
Candidates must not be aged more than 25 years on the date of commencement of training.
Candidates must have an eyesight of 6/6 (with or without external aids) and no colour blindness.
Candidates must have passed the medical examination and mandatory tests prior to joining IMI.
Candidates must have qualified the IMU-CET examination.

Eligibility for B.Tech. Lateral Entry:

Candidates should have passed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Marine Engineering from any Government Approved institution with at least 60% marks in aggregate and completed the Diploma within the stipulated period of 3 years.
Candidates must have passed the 10th and 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English or in awarded Diploma.
Candidates should be aged between 18 - 25 years as on August 1.

International Maritime Institute B.Tech. And B.Tech Lateral Entry Selection Criteria

For B.Tech. admissions, candidates are alloted seats based on the merit in the IMU-CET examination.
Post qualifying this exam, candidates are called for the counselling round.
During this counselling seats will be allotted based on merit secured and candidate’s preference.

Selection Criteria for B.Tech. Lateral Entry

Candidates are selected for admissions to B.Tech (Lateral Entry) based on the performance in Pre Screening Test (PST) and Interview conducted by the Institute.
Selected candidates then undergo a medical examination by the Directorate General of Shipping approved doctors.
Candidates need to pay a medical examination fee directly to the doctor.
Candidates also need to submit the report to the institute at the time of admission.
Thus, the final selection is subject to payment of total fees, submission of original documents for verification and submission of Medical Fitness report by DG Shipping Approved Doctor.

Candidates must have passed BE / B.Tech (Mechanical or Naval Arch) from AICTE approved college/university with 50% marks and at least 60% marks in English in either 10th or 10+2.
Candidates should have fluency in written and spoken English.
Candidates must not be aged more than 28 years on the date of commencement of training.
Candidates must have an eyesight of 6/6 and no colour blindness.
Candidates must have passed the medical examination and mandatory tests prior to joining IMI.
Candidates must be medically fit with eyesight 6/6 (without external aids) and no colour blindness.

NOTE:

For DNS and B.Tech. Lateral Entry, the application fee is INR 2000/-.
In case of DNS, application fee can be paid through cash or demand draft favoring ‘IMI’ payable at Greater Noida.
For B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) admissions, candidates are required to apply online at www.imi.edu.in and pay the registration fees through Online Payment Gateway provided at IMI Website or NEFT.
