Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) started functioning from 2001 and is located in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh. IICT is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow (APJAKTU) and is approved by AICTE.

IICT Bhadohi offers B.Tech, Short Term and Distance Education courses (Diploma and Certificate) in the spectrum of fields of Carpet Technology. The annual intake for the B.Tech program is 60 students.

The applications can be submitted through online and offline mode.
Candidates must have completed 10+2 level education for admission to regular courses (B.Tech and Short-Term).
For the distance education courses, candidates must have completed High School (Class 10^th).
Admissions to B.Tech program are based on candidates’ rank in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main.

IICT Bhadohi B.Tech Admission 2023

The institute offers B.Tech in the branch of Carpet & Textile Technology. The institute provides the following specializations in the final year: Home Textile Technology, Advanced Textile Technology, Textile Designing Technology.

The minimum qualification for applying is 60% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology from CBSE or any recognized board.

All the admissions to B.Tech program are done through JEE Main and counselling by Central Counseling Board (CCB), Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Important points:

Relaxation of 10% will be given for SC/ST candidates in the qualifying examination.
Class 12^th marks will not be added for calculation of rank and merit.
For Lateral Entry admission, the candidates must have an Indian nationality and should have passed Diploma in Engineering or Technology with at least 45% aggregate marks.
Candidates are also eligible to apply if they have passed B.Sc degree from UGC recognized institution with at least 45% marks and passed 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the subjects and with English as the medium of instruction.

IICT Bhadohi Short Term Courses Admission 2023

IICT Bhadohi offers four-month short term courses under four disciplines in the field of Carpet Technology. Candidates must have passed 10 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Admissions to these courses are based on first come first serve basis. Admissions are conducted thrice a year- August to November, December to March and April to July session.

Application forms are available both online and offline. Eligible candidates can either download the form from the portal and send to the institute along with the Demand draft or can obtain personally from the admission office at the college.

IICT Bhadohi Distance Courses Admission 2023

IICT Bhadohi offers Diploma and Certificate courses in a multiple numbers of specializations. The courses are open to the candidates who have passed class 10^th from any recognized board with Mathematics as a compulsory subject but it is essential that they must be conversant in English language and should be computer friendly to cope up with the course material.

Key points regarding admission:

On the receipt of the completed application form along with the registration fee, candidates will be registered with the institute for Diploma/ Certificate course and will be allotted a registration number. They will need to quote this registration number for future reference.
Minimum duration of completing Diploma courses is 3 years and for completing certificate course is six months.
In the case of expiry of the period of three years/ six months (as applicable), the candidates not being able to complete the course will have to register again for which a nominal registration fee will be charged.

IICT Bhadohi Application Process 2023

Candidates can apply for the courses through offline mode. They can do so by filling the form available at the admission window of the institute. The application fee for the form is INR 250 which can be paid in cash.

Take the print of the form and fill the necessary details.
Send the duly filled in application form along with the required documents to the institute.
The application fee for the downloaded forms is INR 300.
The application fee will have to be paid through Demand Draft drawn in favor of “Indian Institute of Carpet Technology” payable at Badohi.

How is ICT at IICT, AU, Ahmedabad, and PDPU?

IICT, AU, and PDPU both are private universities that offer a 4-year course( graduation level) in ICT. AU has been awarded NAAC grade B++ whereas PDPU has been awarded NAAC grade A. AU offers 26 courses across 7 streams and PDPU offers 47 courses across 7 streams.

Course Curriculum

IICT

At IICT the course of ICT has been designed under the Aeigi school of engineering and applied sciences.
The course is known for a focus on project-based learning. The course is highly relevant and useful in training individuals to work in a real-life setting.

PDPU

PDPU also has made it necessary for students to take up internships for at least 4-6 months every year.
It is seen as an important step in gaining industry exposure and a chance to apply theoretical knowledge.

Faculty and Academics:

IICT

The teaching staff at IICT is old and quite experienced. Teachers are friendly and always provide assistance with project work and the creation of notes before exams.
Scholarships are provided each year to students from the economically weaker background and students who performed exceptionally well in academics.

PDPU

On the other hand, PDPU has a relatively new but highly qualified teaching staff. Most of them are Ph.D. holders and teach quite well. Moreover, activities and seminars are organized for students on a weekly basis.

Placements:

IICT offers a decent number of placements and companies hire students by offering good salary packages. PDPU has a training and placement cell that has tie-ups with national and international companies although the first batch of ICT is yet to be passed out and placed.

PDPU and AU are both good for pursuing the course of ICT. Choosing with the college to pursue the course depends on a person’s feasibility, interest, and goals.
