Barbhag College, Nalbari was established in 1964. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University. It is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). The college offers undergraduate programs in the fields of arts and science. The college has specially focus on the education of rural women, with the result that more than 50% of the total enrolment at present is girl students. Total strength of the college is 362 including 212 female students. It always provide higher education among women in addition to the backward classes including SC/ST and OBC.
