Shri Shikshayatan College is a bit more liberal than Loreto. It is not so strict about certain rules and students have the freedom to explore. The attendance, dress code, academics, etc. are much more lenient than Loreto. But according to the education provided both are equally good. Both Bhawanipur Education Society and Shri Shikshayatan are reputed colleges in Kolkata. They admit their students on a merit basis. Their cut off is usually high but if you have average scores you will get a chance in their 2nd or 3rd lists.

Shri Shikshayatan College is a good option if you want to pursue any Commerce degree. The faculty base for Commerce is quite good. On the other hand, J.D. Birla is well-known for its home-science honours course.
Among these two institutes, Goenka College of Commerce is the best option for pursuing a B.com Honours course. As Shri Shikshatan College is a private institute, the infrastructure of the institute is good. Bot Goenka College of Commerce offers better academics.
