Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology accepts BE/BTech admission as per KEAM Score. KEAM Counselling 2023 round 3 counselling started on August 23. Eligible candidates can submit their fresh options or rearrange existing choices. Previously, KEAM has released Round 1 and Round 2 seat allotments.

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET) is an engineering institution located in the port city of Kochi, Kerala and was established in 2001. The college is affiliated to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU), Trivandrum.

Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. in various specializations.

A candidate seeking admission into B.Tech course will be admitted on merit of 10+2 qualifying examination and KEAM rank.
Candidate with atleast 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry taken together is eligible for admission.
Candidates in NRI Quota need not to appear in KEAM exam.
For M.Tech admission, candidates must have valid GATE score or can seek admission through entrance test conducted by the college.
Candidates are supposed to apply through DTE, Kerala counselling under government seats or apply for college seats on merit of qualifying examination.
Research scholars must apply through APJAKTU Ph.D. Admission Portal after applications are invited in the months of July and January.
The selection to Ph.D. shall be done through common written tests and/or personal interview.
Application to college seats can be made in online mode by paying INR 500 via online payment gateway.
Meritorious candidates can avail scholarships at the time of admission.
Candidate must be a citizen of India.

RSET, Kochi B.Tech Admission 2023

RSET offers B.Tech course in seven specializations, each for duration of four-year. The college is a member college of Kerala Catholic Engineering College Management’s Association (KCECMA) according to which 50% of total seats shall be filled by government through KEAM. The remaining 50% seats will be reserved as college seats to be filled on merit basis.

KEAM admission are regulated on the basis of merit assessed by giving equal weightage in 50:50 proportion to the marks obtained in the Entrance Examination for Engineering (Paper I & Paper II taken together) and the marks obtained in PCM in the qualifying examination of H.S.C or equivalent.

Key Points for B.Tech Admission:

5% of the total seats, in excess, is reserved for candidates to be admitted under Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
A candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2019. No relaxation of age is given.
KEAM is conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Govt. of Kerala.

RSET, Kochi M.Tech Admission 2023

The College also offers M.Tech degree in six specializations at post-graduation level. Like B.Tech, 50% of total seats shall be filled under government quota by Director of Technical Education, Kerala. A rank list will be displayed by DTE, Kerala for allotment of admissions.

The remaining 50% seats shall be occupied through college level admission on merit basis. The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE scores.

However, if seats remain vacant even Non-GATE candidates can apply based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test conducted by the college. Short listed candidates will be called to appear in personal interview.

The eligibility for each specialization is B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate and a pass for SC/ST candidates. Or candidate with minimum 55% marks in AMIE/ AMIETE examination.

Key Points to remember for M.Tech Admission:

Candidates who have obtained Bachelor’s degree from RSET will be given 5% weightage in calculating index merit.
Sponsored candidates with more than two-year of experience will be given extra weightage based on their experience.
Non-Sponsored Non-GATE candidates’ index merit will be calculated based on marks obtained in Qualifying Examination and Entrance Examination in 40:60 proportions.
Sponsored category index merit is calculated based on marks obtained in Qualifying Examination, Entrance Examination and Work experience in 40:50:10 proportions.
Sponsored candidates with more than two-year of experience will be given more importance.

RSET, Kochi Ph.D. Admission 2023

Candidate seeking admission into Ph.D. can opt among four specializations offered by the college. The norms and admission rules are as per the rules of APJAKTU.

There shall be 3 categories of Ph.D. admission:
(i) Full time scholars of the University with or without fellowship.
(ii) Part time scholars who are faculty members of the University Departments or Affiliated College.
(iii) External part-time scholars who work in research organizations or R&D centers recognized by APJAKTU.

Key Points to remember for Ph.D. Admission:

RSET, Kochi Application Process 2023

Applicants must apply for Government seats through KEAM CEE and DTE, Kerala. Ph.D. aspirants must check the APJAKTU website for getting admission related details.

Candidates applying under college seats must adhere to the given steps for making an application:

Application forms can be submitted only online on the official website of college.
Application fee is to be paid online via payment gateway using Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking.
Upload a recent passport size coloured photograph during online submission.
Details regarding the filling or submission of application form can be obtained after logging in the admission portal.
Applicants are advised to not to send original or copies of documents to the college office.
Admission will be allotted only after submitting all the original certificates and the fees via DD. No cash payment shall be accepted.

Which is better in terms of placements, SCT Trivandrum or a private college like Rajagiri, FISAT or SCMS?

It entirely depends on the branch that you are choosing. If you go for CSE then all the colleges SCT, RAJAGIRI, FISAT, SCMS have good placements opportunities. But in the case of other branches, Kerala colleges have a low level of placement except for NITs and IITs.

Good placements are available only for software firms and not for your core jobs. All the colleges above are good and will help you to attain the skills required for different jobs.

And everything depends on you how much effort you will give to your course so that you can obtain experience as well as knowledge so that you can get a good job apart from your college placements

SCT Trivandrum, FISAT, Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, and SCMS are among the most sought after colleges in Kerala for engineering. SCT comes in the top 3 engineering colleges in Kerala. Whereas, RSET, and FISAT are ranked at 83, 105 by The Week 2020. SCMS has NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation.

FISAT Kochi has been ranked at 96th for Engineering among Indian Engineering colleges, SCMS Cochin has been ranked 85th, Rajagiri ranked 83rd and Mar Baselios (MBCET) is ranked in the bracket of 100-125 among Indian Engineering colleges. All the above colleges are NAAC ‘A’ grade accredited colleges.

Admission Process:

Admission to the FISAT BTech program is based on the scores obtained inKEAM/JEE Main, followed by counselling, and admission to the program through management quota is based on the rank in the merit list.
At SCMS Cochin, admission is through counselling based on rank obtained in Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical (KEAM), and the same is for the Management quota.
For Rajagiri, admission is through counselling based on the rank obtained in KEAM. Remaining seats will be filled by the Institute based on the marks obtained in 10+2.
