Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology (MBCET) is an engineering institute located at Nalanchira, Kerala. Established in the year 2002, the institute is affiliated to the University of Kerala and the Kerala Technological University.
The college offers UG and PG degrees in various fields of engineering. There is a total of 600 seats available for B.Tech and 138 seats available for M.Tech in the college. The admission to B.Tech courses is done through the KEAM entrance examination. Candidates have to first qualify the examination to apply for admission into the course. Admissions are done on basis of the scores obtained in the entrance examination. The list of selected candidates will be created by the CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Exam, Kerala). Candidates are required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination with minimum 50% marks to apply for admission.
The admission of 50% seats in B.Tech is entrance based and the other 50% is direct, based on Management Quota. For either method, candidates will have to first qualify the entrance examination to apply. For merit-based direct admission, the candidate’s entrance examination score and the marks obtained in the qualifying school examination is added to create the merit list of selected candidates.
The application process is done online. The candidates will have to pay an application fee as required by the college. The application forms will be available from May 03, (tentative). The reservation rules will be followed as set by the Government.

The selection of 50% B.Tech candidates is done through KEAM entrance examination scores based on merit. The list is prepared by the CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Exams) for the college. The remaining 50% seats are filled through direct admission based on Management quota.
Candidates must have a valid GATE score to apply for admission into MTech. So, candidates need to qualify the GATE examination to apply. Admissions are also done directly based on merit. Candidates should have a B.Tech degree in the relevant field with minimum 60% marks as basic eligibility criteria.
50% of the available seats will be filled based on the list created by DTE based on the rank obtained in the GATE exam. The remaining 50% is filled directly based on merit through Management Quota.
