Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering (JNNCE) was founded in 1980 in the city of Shimoga, Karnataka. JNNCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Balagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. JNNCE offers B.E. Selection of candidates for B.E. course is done on the basis of candidates’ performance in KCET/ COMEDK-UGET.
Admission into M.Tech is given based on candidate’s merit in KEA-PGCET or their valid GATE score.
For admission into MCA and MBA candidates have to qualify KEA-PGCET.

Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering offers four-year B.E. in seven specializations. Candidates who have passed 10+2 in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Biology) with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates) are considered eligible to get admission in B.E. course.

JNNCE Shimoga has two-year M.Tech course in seven specializations in its academic curriculum.

Applicants who hold B.E./B.Tech Degree in any relevant discipline from AICTE approved University are eligible to get admission into the M.Tech course.

Admission of the candidates is done on the basis of their merit in Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) or based on their valid GATE score.

JNNCE, Shimoga MBA and MCA Admission 2023

The college offers MBA and MCA to candidates who have completed Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ ST/ OBC categories) from a recognized University are eligible to apply for admission. However, for MCA it is mandatory for applicants to have studied Mathematics or Statistics at 10+2 or graduation Level.

Only those applicants are shortlisted to give admission in MCA course who have qualified Karnataka-PGCET. Selection of candidates to MBA is based on their merit in KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test)/ CMAT/ PGCET.

KMAT is a state level entrance test conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) in the month of July every year.
KEA conducts PGCET at the state level in the month of July and the test is of 100 marks and on qualifying the examination candidates gets admission into the 1^st year of MBA program.
