College of Engineering, Thalassery (COET) established in the year 2000 is among six engineering colleges under CAPE(Co-operative Academy of Professional Education), created by the Government of Kerala.
Located on a hilltop in Kundoormala near Thalassery town, it has affiliation from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
- COET offers undergraduate in B.Tech which includes courses in 6 streams, with its mechanical and electrical departments being accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.
- It also offers post graduation under 2 departments in M.Tech. NRI candidates for B.tech do not need to appear for the CEE.
- For undergraduate aspirants, it is mandatory to have a higher secondary qualification and to appear for the state's Centralised Entrance Exam(CEE) the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Exam (KEAM).
- The selection of candidates is based on their rank and score in the CEE.
Those looking to pursue M.Tech at the institute must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology along with a GATE score, if selected for one of the 36 seats available for post-graduation, the candidates can select from 2 specializations.
