Anurag University Hyderabad runs under the Gayathri Educational and Cultural Trust (GECT). The trust was founded in the year 1998 by ‘Guru’ Sri Sivananda Murthy Garu to impart quality education. The Anurag Group of Institutions (AGI) is one of the first few integrated campuses of South India established in 2002, offering programs in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Business Management. In the year 2020, AGI was officially named as Anurag University. The Institute is affiliated with JNTU, Hyderabad and approved by UGC. Anurag University is accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

According to the NIRF Ranking 2023, the university is ranked 101 out of 200 colleges in the overall category. Additionally, it has received a ranking in the band of 101-151 for the Engineering Category. Further, it has also ranked 60^th and 22^nd in 2023 in the Engineering category by Outlook and Times respectively.

At the UG level, the university offers B.Tech, B.Sc, BBA, B.Pharma & D.Pharma whereas at the PG level, it offers M.Tech, MBA & M.Pharmacy in a variety of specializations.
