The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was established in 1972 in Imphal, India. It is run by a society named "North Eastern Regional Medical College Society" which was duly registered under the Manipur Societies.
The college offers a bunch of medical courses in the field of Medical, Dental, Nursing, Urology etc. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, the institute also offers Doctoral degree courses.
The institute conducts different admission procedure for different courses.
- The candidates seeking admission in MBBS, BDS, MD and MS courses, must have to appear an entrance exam, popularly known as National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), as per the norm of the supreme court. The candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in NEET.
- The admission in B.Sc Nursing programme is made by the marks obtained in 10+2 level examination.
- The institute conducts a written test for the candidates seeking admission in M.Ch. programme. The candidates are admitted by their performance and secured marks in the exam.
- The institute makes the selection for the admission in Ph.D. based on merit.
