I had biology in my 12th class, and I hated maths so the only well option in this field was to go to doctors. Each department has more than 27 facilities, which are subdivided for the students, so each group of 10 students can have 1 teacher. Faculties are renowned doctors, which have done some amazing work in their respective fields. There are 2 term exams and 1 sent-up examination which occurs every 2-3 months. And yes sometimes it becomes very hard to pass exams. Only late-nighters have saved most of the students

MBBS. is a vast course including 19 subjects, the good thing about MAMC is the faculty here, they are top-notch and teach very well. The strength of the class is 250 which is quite high and one teacher teaches at a time, but if you want to concentrate on the lecture you can. There are different grades of exams occurring timely month by month, which may be difficult to pass but if you study a few hours daily you can pass the tests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Anyone who seriously wants to be a doctor should choose this course, it's not a cakewalk. I wanted to be a doctor, that's why I am here. There are about 12 Professors, 15-18 Senior Residents, in each clinical subject, while 5-7 professors & 10 SRs in pre/para-clinical subjects The faculty here is one of the most educated faculties in the field of medicine, but when it comes to teaching methods, its only PowerPoint slides, which they go through, and only a few teachers put extra effort to teach us better. Exams usually occur on time, except now because of COVID-19, but it's too difficult to pass the exam, you need to study a whole year to pass the exam in the final year, although for the first three years, it's relatively easy to pass.

Ques
How will you describe life at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC)?

● Top Answer By Ridham Mishra on 07 May 22

Ans
Life at Maulana Azad Medical College is all about balance. MAMC has strict academics which keeps the students at their toes. There are always some examinations, projects, OSPE, tutorials around the corner. So, you need to find a balance between studies and other activities.  The batch strength is around 250. The people you will meet on campus are talented and amiable. The daily routine gets monotonous easily. You will hardly get any time to breathe. But after a while, you will get used to the hectic schedule.

Ques
Why do some students prefer MAMC over AIIMS Delhi?

● Top Answer By Ojas Reddy on 11 Oct 21

Ans
AIIMS is known for some rough ragging, so as a fresher that might be tough. If you have a sibling in the college, AIIMS or MAMC can become a smoother experience. Try to acquaint yourself with a professor beforehand, in whichever college you choose. It will help you throughout your academic years. My friend got AIIMS Delhi in the second counseling, but by that time she had settled in MAMC and made friends. The 50% DU quota for PG is another way. AIIMS is AIIMS, so there's no comparison.

Ques
Which college is better: Seth GS Medical College Mumbai (SGSMC) or Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi (MAMC)?

● Top Answer By Tania Adhikari, on 18 Nov 21

Ans
It will be better to go to Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi (MAMC). Here are some reasons why: MAMC Delhi is considered the best medical college for students going through NEET.  Many top students have always chosen this college.  You will get to study with the brilliant minds of the country. The one thing every student prefers about MAMC Delhi is its course fees. It is very less as compared to SGSMC Mumbai. Your entire MBBS tuition fees will be around INR 11,000.  Maulana Azad Medical College is run by the Delhi Government whereas SGSMC is run by Mumbai’s Municipal Corporation. MAMC being situated in Delhi provides the best college life with a huge campus with an indoor-outdoor sports facility, swimming pool, gym facilities, AC lecture halls, etc. Such perks are missing in SGSMC Mumbai. If clinical exposure and academics are considered they may be at the same level, but MAMC being under Delhi University has an upper hand.

Ques
Which college should I choose, MAMC or JIPMER?

● Top Answer By Sonali Bose on 05 Oct 21

Ans
First and foremost you should know that both MAMC (Maulana Azad Medical College) and JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) are amazing institutes. It is bit tough to decide which college is better but still I would help you in understanding the facts on which you can decide which college to choose: To get into one of the colleges you have to be a good scorer in NEET which is crucial. Geographically, the students who want to go for North India and he/she who has a good score, approach Maulana Azad Medical College at first. As the environment is quite conducive. Contrast to this, those students who belong from Southern Part of India prefer JIPMER as they get the same atmosphere as their home. Categories MAMC JIPMER Course Fee 11,000 19,000 Highest CTC 25 LPA 26 LPA Average CTC 16 LPA 18 LPA But let me assure you that getting into either of the institutes is a pride for a student. And there is no other factor to say no to any of the colleges. So you can take admission in either and move forward.

Ques
If you get a choice between MAMC and AIIMS Rishikesh which one will you choose?

● Top Answer By Sabita Pathak on 05 Oct 21

Ans
The choices you have right now are somewhat very closely related to what my brother’s choices were very recently in his career. Thus, here is a thorough insight about what my brother mentions, AIIMS Rishikesh, although still being under acute construction, is following the steps of development until today. While, on the other hand, MAMC is a rather well-established medical college, holding a top rank.  The structure and cultural advancement of the college have witnessed heavy developments. MAMAC has conducted several conferences and is one of the major hubs for industrial training.  The institute does not limit education to medicine, but also teaches communication skills, and what it takes to be a fruitful doctor, via major workshops, lectures, etc.  The same opportunities are quite limited if talking about AIIMS Rishikesh. Here are some major benefits MAMC provides, which other institutes do not, Situated in the center of Delhi, it offers exposure to students, partially also helping patients reach their steps before they go to any other hospitalized institutes. If a student is based in Delhi itself, then they can quite naturally enjoy the Delhi quota, which includes 50% of the reservation in Delhi colleges, further for the PG seats.  AIIMS does not provide any facilities like the aforementioned, so it is a good idea to choose the former. The only major advantage AIIMS Rishikesh enjoys over MAMC is the tag it has, which the latter does not have. So choose wisely.

Ques
Which is better, AIIMS Bhopal or MAMC?

● Top Answer By Rituraaj Bose on 30 Nov 21

Ans
It is difficult to compare AIIMS Bhopal and MAMC. The former is run by AIIMS, directly under MoH&FW. While the other is run under MCI. There is no doubt that MAMC is one of the finest medical institutes in the country. But it is quite old. If we compare the growth of the institutes then it is safe to say that AIIMS Bhopal has progressed much faster.  NEET toppers choose MAMC. On the other hand, the AIIMS tag is also greatly valued in the medical circle. AIIMS follows a different pattern of education. While being one of the oldest medical institutes, MAMC offers a better experience level in every aspect of medical science. In near future, AIIMS will stand way ahead of the old institutes.  Both of these are great options. Which will be better for you depends on the parameters you are using to judge these institutes.

Ques
What is your review of Maulana Azad Medical College?

● Top Answer By Ishaan Goyal, on 22 Nov 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). According to him, studying here was his best decision. It is one of the best Government medical colleges in India.  Infrastructure:  It is great being a government college.  The lecture halls are good and fully air conditioned.  It has 5 hospitals attached to it.  Hostels are a bit of a let down but they provide recreational facilities like TT rooms, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton hall and a reading room. There is also a pool for swimming. Gym facilities are also provided. Academics:  The faculty here is highly experienced. Some of the departments here are also known to be better than the AIIMS. Clinics:  It has 5 hospitals associated with it.  Here due to lots of patients, you will encounter various cases. This will give you the appropriate amount of exposure. College Life:  Seniors are very cooperative.  You will get lots of opportunities for personality development.  Life here can be a bit hectic but that will be helpful in the longer run.  The college has a very welcoming and accepting environment.  One of the best things about MAMC is its location. It is situated in the heart of the city. You should also remember that the students of MAMC are the ones that make this college what it is today. The competitive nature and hectic schedule keeps you engaged and will eventually help you in the long run.

Ques
If someone is getting Maulana Azad Medical College and all AIIMS, other than AIIMS Delhi then what should that person choose?

● Top Answer By Nitin Kumar, on 20 Nov 21

Ans
This answer may vary from person to person but Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is a well reputed and much older institution. Hence it has years of educational experience. On the other hand the AIIMS are relatively new and require a lot to learn and develop to be considered at par with MAMC. MAMC: You can totally rely on the things taught here. As all the classes are taken by some of the experienced teachers. Their years of experience provide proper guidance on how to approach any situation. They have a gigantic campus, attached to notable hospitals like - Lok Nayak, GB Pant and Guru Nanak Eye Centre. There is a 50% DU quota for PG admissions. They have a batch size of 250 students, which at times could feel crowded. Being in Delhi, it has access to many good coaching institutes. Getting proper accommodation may take time. Other AIIMS (except New Delhi): Campus is almost new and has well equipped labs and equipment. Almost everyone gets a hostel from day one and hostels are really in good condition. Batch size is small. Faculties are a mixture of new and experienced professors. AIIMS Patna does not offer any PG courses. Except AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Bhopal, other AIIMS do not offer PG degree in all courses. AIIMS Guntur and Nagpur function from their temporary campus.  Many departments in other AIIMS are not fully functional. There is less accessibility to good coaching institutes for PG preparation. There is no 50% institutional quota. Therefore, MAMC, overall, is much better and reliable as an institution. MAMC promises certainty. So it will be better if you go for MAMC. AIIMS Bhopal, Bhubaneswar , Jodhpur and Rishikesh are developing fast, but AIIMS Patna, Raipur, Nagpur and Guntur are still lagging behind.

Ques
Which is better: Maulana Azad Medical College, AIIMS Bhubaneswar or Bhopal?

● Top Answer By Hrishita Das, on 22 Nov 21

Ans
Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is definitely better than every other AIIMS. Though there are chances for AIIMS to grow in the next 3-5 years. But opting AIIMS over MAMC is really not recommended. MAMC has a huge patient load. But you need to remember that a huge influx of patients does not mean a huge amount of knowledge but it means more commotion. AIIMS are made to be tertiary care centers and to receive rare and quality cases. Hence the patient inflow is low. MAMC has PG reservations, which are yet to start at AIIMS. MAMC also gets the locational advantage, being in the heart of the city. The batch size here is huge, about 250, which sometimes becomes problematic. They have a better and more experienced faculty than AIIMS. Due to the pandemic clinical classes are held in the seminar rooms with just 10 students and a faculty. This lets the students interact with the teacher properly. A small group of students is also easier to manage by a teacher. Also the best thing about MAMC is its fees. It is much less than that of AIIMS. An MBBS course is around INR 11,000 at MAMC. MAMC being a more older and experienced institution has provided its students with some of the best opportunities. But that does not mean that AIIMS is lagging behind. As it is also growing and providing students with the appropriate amount of exposure.

Ques
How is the hostel life in Maulana Azad Medical College?

● Top Answer By Aditya Bajaj, on 22 Nov 21

Ans
Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) has 2 boys hostels for undergraduate students. Old boys Hostel (OBH): The OBH is a very social place.  You will have many friends who will act as your guides and advisors.  There is a newly constructed reading room, a basketball court, a badminton court and a 24 hour canteen inside the hostel premises.  The only flaw about this is its cleanliness.  The rooms are small and the bathrooms are not well maintained at all.  But the cleanliness also depends on the students residing. If they try to maintain  their bit of cleanliness, it could still work out. New Boys Hostel (NBH): The NBH, unlike the OBH, is a quiet place.  All the rooms are for a single occupant.  There is a reading room and a canteen in the hostel.  The canteen closes down around 11PM and opens in the morning around 7AM. The rooms are more spacious and have balconies.  This hostel is comparatively cleaner. Therefore, OBH is a more social place where you get to enjoy as well as study. NBH is a bit more isolated and you have your own peace of mind.
