The National Research Centre for Cashew, at Puttur, Karnataka conducts researches on all the facets of cashews focusing the factors to improve their quality and productivity especially for exporting them. NRCC is a centre for imparting education on research methodology and updating the technologies for growing cashews in bulk and also coordinates on numerous national research projects. - Research Collaborations: It has collaborated with various national organizations like UAS(Bengaluru), CIAE(Bhopal), DCCD(Kochi), etc. for various research projects on cashew.
- Research achievements: Many achievements are done in the researches carried on by our scientists and students. Institute has the largest collection of germplasm of cashews in the whole country – 509 accessions. It also has got the technique for regeneration of cashews from seedling explants and that have been standardized. Also new plants have been raised through micro grafting.
