Eligibility requirements for Ph.D. (Agricultural Statistics):
Only those candidates who had their Bachelor's Degree Programme under 10+2+4 OR 10+2+3 OR 10+1+4 system (OR awarded B.Sc. degree under 10+2+2 system prior to 1985) and fulfill the qualifications given below are eligible to apply for admission:
- M.Sc./M.Tech. in Agricultural Statistics /Molecular Biology or Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Computer Application / Agricultural Sciences/Life Sciences and equivalent post graduate degree in science.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks OR an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 7.50 out of 10.00 OR 3.75 out of 5.00 OR 3.00 out of 4.00 OR 2.25 out of 3.00 (For SC/ST candidates: 55% marks OR OGPA of 6.88 out of 10.00 OR 3.44 out of 5.00 OR 2.75 out of 4.00 OR 2.06 out of 3.00) in M.Sc./M.Tech./ or equivalent degree programme
Age Limit:
The minimum age limits for admission to Ph.D. courses is 21 years. The age shall be reckoned as on 31st July of the year of admission.
The Institute offers a full time degree of PhD in three specializations. The age limit for the course is minimum 21 years.

IASRI PhD Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed their 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+1+4 in their Bachelor’s Degree Program in the required field of Agriculture.
- They must have completed their Master’s Degree Program from the required field.
- Candidates should have obtained at least 60% marks for general category and minimum 55% marks for SC/ST category in their Master’s Degree Program.
- Foreign students seeking admission shall forward their applications through their respective Embassies.
IASRI PhD Selection Criteria
- The selection of candidates is based on the marks scored in the ICAR JRF Entrance Exam, academic score and Interview.
- Foreign students are exempted from appearing in the written test and interview.
