Remarks:

I took admitted in the year 2021. So admission process took place by the cutoff method. The admission process was completely online and there were different eligibility criteria and marks considered for different courses. For physical science with chemistry, only marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths was considered and there was no eligibility criteria accept the fact the student should get passed in all the subject in his 12th. There was no specific admission form for the college but there was a common admission form at delhi university by which you can apply to any college or course in delhi university. Application fees were 100 INR but to change to college in further cutoff we had to pay 1000 INR per action which in my opinion should be reduced.

In 2019, there was no entrance test. Students were selected based on 12th marks. The 12th marks were calculated on a best-of-4 basis with a few mandatory subjects to be included. Merit lists were declared on the University website and the entire admission process was offline. For economics, having studied maths in 12th was compulsory, however, it need not be included in the best-of-4 % calculation. There are approximately 5 merit lists released after which the seats are occupied and the admission closes. However, for a few special categories upto 9 merit lists are declared.

Answered Questions

Ramjas College: 24 answered questions

Ques
Which is better for a B.A. hons in economics Ramjas College or Kirori Mal College?

● Top Answer By Aditya Shukla on 18 Oct 21

Ans
Most DU institutions are on a similar footing. But Ramjas is regarded to be superior in most areas. Apart from similar academics to KMC, Ramjas College has one of the best cultural events. Its focus is on the holistic development of students. With time, the value of these colleges is diminishing as cut-offs are getting competitive, and the quality of students is spreading more evenly. However, Ramjas is the best if you want to challenge yourself.

Ques
Which is a better college Hindu/Hansraj/Ramjas/Miranda House as a whole?

● Top Answer By Anita Roy on 28 Jan 22

Ans
Among these institutes, Hindu College is better. Only SRCC, Stephens, and LSR can be considered in the same league as Hindu. It has a good reputation among recruiters. The placement cell is active and invites many companies to the placement drive. According to the recent placement statistics, the average CTC offered to the students is INR 8.4 LPA.  Hansraj is also a decent option. National Social Service and other clubs are quite active. Miranda House is on the same level as Hansraj in terms of studies. It is more preferred among students since it is situated right next to the metro station.

Ques
Which DU college is better, Ramjas or Sri Venkateswara for B.Com?

● Top Answer By Samiksha Madan on 21 Jan 22

Ans
Both Ramjas and Sri Venkateswara are reputed colleges under Delhi University. According to the reviews online Sri Venkateswara (SVC) is better when it comes to commerce than Ramjas. SVC has better placements, faculty and overall exposure. Both colleges are very much involved in cultural activities and extracurriculars. If you are willing to opt for a science course then go for Ramjas, Commerce is better in SVC. They both have no strict rules to maintain a 75% attendance, you should just have enough to sit for the internals. Students who are unable to sit in the internals due to their involvement in clubs and societies have to submit an ECA to their teacher. This is possible in both the colleges. Ramjas has a better infrastructure than SVC. But all these do not matter much, if you are dedicated to your studies, you can succeed in any college. Choose the college nearer to you, the north or the south campus.

Ques
What is your review of Ramjas College University of Delhi?

● Top Answer By Shraddha Malik on 21 Jan 22

Ans
Ramjas is a very popular north campus college under Delhi University. It is one of the oldest institutions established under DU, thus holding a great reputation. Ramjas College has provided students with the proper industrial exposure, shaping them early in their career. This exposure helped them to familiarize themselves with the functioning of an organization.  They get to experience the professional environment. The college also conducted seminars, industry visits and internships. They have a 100% placement record. The societies of Ramjas college are very active. These include dance, drama, entrepreneurship, coding and many more. They have a highly experienced faculty to guide them in every path. They have a strong alumni network. Categories Ramjas College Highest CTC 10-13 LPA Average CTC 3-5 LPA Recruiting Companies ZS Associates, L&T, Wipro, TCS, etc. Overall, the college has a great student crowd, who are competitive enough to keep the standard of education high. It has a great infrastructure with all the necessary facilities required by the students. Thus opting for this will prove to be a good choice.

Ques
How is life at Ramjas College Delhi University?

● Top Answer By Mohit Saha on 21 Jan 22

Ans
One of my friends studied at Ramjas College, Delhi. According to him, it is a really great institution as it is one of the oldest and experienced colleges under DU. His life at Ramjas was fulfilling with new experiences that shaped him up as an individual. They have a very helpful and friendly faculty. They even being in such respected positions talked with the students with enough humility. The seniors are also friendly and very cooperative. They will guide you properly through your academic year. You will not find them to be intimidating. Ramjas is very lenient with attendance. You can take leaves to prepare for other exams or extracurricular activities. They have active societies and clubs which include dance, drama, music, quiz, entrepreneurship, coding, games, etc. Students can take part in them to improve their skills. It helps with the holistic development of the students. The college canteen is a two storey building with the first floor being fully air conditioned, and a rooftop.  Although the first floor hardly remains open as it generally gets utilized for presentations or seminars. You will get to explore many hangout spots surrounding the college. The one thing that Ramjas lacks is a good and cooperative administration. They are very unresponsive and sometimes do not pay any attention to the students' problems and queries. But overall the college is really good and apt for a students intellectual and holistic development.

Ques
Which college is the best for a BCom (H), Venky, Kirori Mal or Ramjas?

● Top Answer By Chandrali Guha on 28 Jan 22

Ans
For a BCom (H), Venky will be a better option. It has a better faculty base. The student crowd is also engaging. Kirori Mal is a decent college but it is more reputed for its science subjects. While Ramjas is more well-known for its Arts courses. For B.Com, Venky is the best among these institutes.

Ques
I have taken an admission at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College for an Economics (Hons). Further, if I get KMC or Ramjas, should I give up SBSC for any of these north campus colleges?

● Top Answer By Hindol Gupta on 28 Jan 22

Ans
Choose KMC or Ramjas college over SBSC because these are better options. When it comes to academics KMC and Ramjas are definitely better than SBSC. There are reasons why the required cutoff for these colleges is more than SBSC. KMC and Ramjas also have better rankings. Many times these colleges were featured among the top 10 colleges in India. Also, if you want to pursue higher studies like M.A in Economics from DSE, then being from DSE will help. As the student crowd is more competitive at the north campus.

Ques
Among Hindu, Hansraj, Ramjas and Kirori Mal, which college is best for doing a B.Sc (Maths)?

● Top Answer By Sahil Mishra on 28 Jan 22

Ans
Wait for the cutoff lists to get released. If you clear the cutoff for each of these colleges, then your preference order should be as follows. Hindu>Kirori Mal>Hansraj>Ramjas The required cutoff for North campus colleges is usually higher than the south campus colleges. You can choose the college based on your cutoff.

Which college should I choose between Sri Venkateswara or Ramjas for a B.Com programme?

● Top Answer By Ashmita Sinha on 28 Jan 22

Ans
Among Sri Venkateswara and Ramjas, the former is the better option for a B.Com program.  The administration at Venky is quite good. It has many active societies. Everything at the institute is online. You can easily get your admit cards or pay your fees. It also offers better academics and faculties.

Ques
Which college is the best for a B.Sc(honours) in mathematics, Ramjas College or Kirori Mal College?

● Top Answer By Shashank Roy on 08 Nov 21

Ans
Both Ramjas College and Kirori Mal College are quite reputed colleges. There are no such parameters to differentiate between these two. Both of these two institutes have good faculty bases. You will also get decent facilities to learn at these colleges.  The only significant factor that can be mentioned is that Kirori Mal has a NAAC A+ accreditation with a better grade as compared to Ramjas. However, it’s not wise to compare these two institutes based on grade. You will have decent opportunities at both. So, you can opt for any of these two based on your convenience.
