Among Maharaja Agrasen College (MAC) and Shivaji College, the former is known to be a strict and disciplined institution while the latter is much lenient.

  • MAC has a better reputation as an educational institution.
  • They have a better and well experienced faculty.
  • Teachers in Shivaji are mostly careless and often miss classes. This hampers the studies and eventually they fail to complete the syllabus.
  • MAC unlike Shivaji is very strict about its academics.
  • They are even strict about maintaining an 80% attendance.

But, all in all ultimately everything depends on the student and their hard work and dedication towards the course. Because the colleges are more or less the same, it is how you prepare yourself for your career ahead.

Among the two Shyamlal College or Maharaja Agrasen College, go for the latter. Both the colleges are under Delhi University.

  • Maharaja Agrasen is a better institution overall when infrastructure and academics both are considered.
  • Maharaja Agrasen also has an experienced faculty and a good crowd.
  • They provide students numerous opportunities in extracurricular activities.
  • They have fests and other inter-collegiate activities which you will miss in Shyamlal.
  • Students here get to be a part of clubs and societies of their choice.
  • They also provide enough exposure.

Therefore, it is suggested that among the two, go for Maharaja Agrasen as it will help in your academic as well as holistic development.

According to the reviews online, College of Vocational Studies (CVS) is much better than Maharaja Agrasen College (MAC-DU). Here are some reasons why:

  • CVS is great, popular for its student culture and campus life.
  • The environment and the crowd here is warm and welcoming.
  • MAC on the other hand is known for its best courses BBE and B.Com.
  • MAC also has a proper and well maintained infrastructure.
  • MAC conducts classes 6 days a week whereas CVS conducts 5 days a week.
  • In MAC the student crowd is divided into groups and does not possess unity like CVS.
Categories MAC CVS
Placement Percentage 70% 65-75%
Highest CTC - 5 LPA
Average CTC 4 LPA 3 LPA
Recruiting Companies KPMG, Deloitte, Byju’s, Wipro, etc. TresVista, Walmart, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, etc.

Lastly, the fest organized at CVS is amazing. You will get to see the performances of Musical groups and bands like The Local Train, etc. The CVS fest is so good it is often compared to the fest of IIT Delhi called Rendezvous.

Maharaja Agrasen (MAIMS IPU) does offer a BBA LLB. It is a 5-year long course offered by the Department of Law. MAIMS IPU BBA LLB has a student intake of 60. Admission to this five-year course is through CLAT (Common Law Aptitude Test). The prerequisite for the course is at least 50% in 10+2.

MAIMS offers placement support to BBA LLB students. The average CTC for the course is around INR 1-2 LPA.

Maharaja Agrasen College (MAC) is overall an average institution. Like every other college it also has its Pros and Cons.

  • They have an experienced faculty but the crowd is not enthusiastic enough or dedicated towards learning.
  • The best thing about MAC is its well built and maintained infrastructure.
  • The auditorium is huge and most of the classrooms are air conditioned.
  • The college has a maintained football ground and outdoor basketball court.
  • The ambience of the college is quiet and calm.
  • MAC is really strict about the students' attendance. They should maintain an 80% attendance.

Overall the college is ordinary but they provide their students with proper industrial exposure and opportunities to succeed in life and get a personality development.

AG

Anshula Garg,

25 Nov 21

Yes, both the colleges are different and provide different courses. Also the curriculum and facilities are different as one is a Government college and the other Private.

Maharaja Agrasen College in Mayur Vihar is under Delhi University. It is a government college which provides limited facilities. Their infrastructure is also average compared to MAIT.

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) and Maharaja Agrasen Institute of MAnagement Studies (MAIMS) is the one which is affiliated to IP University. They have top notch facilities and the students here receive better opportunities and exposure, as they are private institutions. The fees of these two colleges will definitely be higher than usual.

SD

Simi Dua,

25 Nov 21

Among these three colleges it will be better if you go for CSE at MSIT. As CSE is the most sorted department which will provide you with immense opportunities in the corporate field.

It is recommended that you do not opt for Thapar or especially electronics and instrumentation, as your scope will become limited. CSE or IT will open several gates for your future ahead.

Since you do not have any inclination towards any branch, a core branch like ICE which will require you to be one of the top students in the batch to secure a good job in the core company. Or you will get offered a job from mass recruitment companies.

So it is better to pay less for your undergraduate degree, stay in Delhi and pursue the course in demand.

SS

Saheli Singh,

No. Maharaja Agrasen College is said to be an average college. Here are some reasons why it is considered not good enough.

  • The administration is dis-organized.
  • They are incapable of conducting proper admissions.
  • They often fail to solve the students' queries.
  • They do not have proper management.
  • The faculty members are not helpful or cooperative.
  • The only thing good about Maharaja Agrasen College is their infrastructure.

Maharaja Agrasen being under Delhi University is unable to match up with their name and popularity. Do not expect it to be like other colleges under DU, if you do, you will get disappointed.
