I had met the cut-off of various South campus colleges, but since I wanted to take admitted to North Campus, I waited for the fourth cut-off, and then I was granted admission to DRC, I couldn't make it to SRCC which was obviously my dream college but nonetheless as they say everything happens for a reason and I do believe that. I was granted admission to DRC only on the basis of marks and no other quota was applied. The admission criteria for B.Com(Hons) is - we must have studied Maths till class 12th and other than that there's no compulsion of subjects, for a better idea one should always refer to the manual as it might change with time. Minimum marks in 12th - 50% though I don't remember that exactly, as how does it even matter, for a general category The admission process is like this, after checking the cut-off list you rush to the college with all the required documents and then there they explain to you the further procedure.

In 2020, the eligibility criteria for maths honors was that one should have maths in class 12th and should have scored more than 50 percent in that. Then, I filled DU registration form which was available on the Delhi University website and cost around 250 I guess for females. I was in obc so got cut-offs, I had a slight advantage of 1 to 2 percent in comparison to the general category. Now, this admission process has ended and now cuet has been introduced under NEP.

Ans
Both colleges have their pros and cons, it is for you to decide which suits your requirements and then choose accordingly. Here are some points about them both:  According to the infrastructure, Gargi will definitely be a better choice. It has better infrastructure compared to Daulat Ram which is recently in news for poor maintenance of the college buildings. Daulat Ram has the upper hand for being a north campus college.  Hudson lane and Kamla Nagar market are nearby Daulat Ram, good hangout spots are lacking near Gargi. The faculty of both the colleges are more or less the same. They are well experienced and cooperative. Among these institutes, Daulat Ram Collge has a great Commerce faculty base. The professors are well-experienced and dedicated. They help students with their doubts even after college hours.  It is situated on the north campus. It is a fun place to be. There is always some event going on. Also, Daulat Ram has a great fest called Manjari.  Gargi College and Indraprastha College for Women are also good alternatives. If you clear the required cutoff for all these colleges, your preference order should be Daulat Ram>I.P>Gargi.

Ques
Which college is better for a B.Com (honours) Gargi college, Indraprastha College for women or Daulat Ram College?

● Top Answer By Shivani Chakraborty on 10 Jan 22

Ans
One of my friends studied Commerce at Daulat Ram and it had a fantastic faculty. Here are some things that she considered made it better than the other two. The professors were dedicated and committed to their classes. They were highly experienced as well. The college recently had many positive improvements making it one of the most trendiest colleges. It is at the North Campus which was an advantage in itself. Culturally, Daulat Ram College (DRC) encouraged students to take part in fests, societies, clubs and even go for inter-collegiate competitions. Manjari is the most important college fest of DRC. Indraprastha College is overall a beautiful college with very high education standards. But being a bit isolated from the North Campus, students tend to miss the city life. Gargi more or less provides a similar atmosphere like DRC. Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for DRC or Gargi followed by Indraprastha College.
