University of Northern British Columbia International Students Admission
UNBC welcomes applications for admission from qualified students from other countries. International secondary and post-secondary credentials are considered. International students must meet the equivalent of the criteria outlined for High School Admission and University Transfer in British Columbia. Admission is based on the comparison of standards for credentials and grading in the country of origin. Applicants whose first language is not English must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency in English.

- The Indian applicants need to have their All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE), or
- Indian School Certificate (CICSE)
Application with a general certificate of education (GCE) or equivalent
For admission from a GCE system (or equivalent)
- A minimum of two advanced (A) level subjects and
- 3 ordinary (O) level subjects must be completed with an overall grade point average of C or higher
- A level subjects presented for admission must have a grade of at least C
- Students may substitute two advanced subsidiary level (AS) subjects from one A level subject.

Ques: Is the UNBC admissions process proceeding as normal?
Ans: Yes, students can still communicate with Admissions as they did previously, although in-person service has been halted. All communication will be over email or phone.
Ques: Will there be any delays in my application?
Ans: As our admission teams have transitioned to working remotely, there may be slight delays. However, for the most part, the processing of applications will be minimally affected.
Ques: Is UNBC still accepting applications for September 2023 and January 2024?

Ques: When can I expect a decision on my application at UNBC?
Ans: The speed of application processing depends on the program and the complexity of the application. For a complete application to our general undergraduate programs (Bachelors of Arts, Commerce, Science, and Planning), you can expect a decision within 2-5 days.

Ques: How will I know if I received an award/ financial aid at UNBC?
Ans: You may check the status of your award applications by logging into your myUNBC / Awards and Financial Aid / Award Application portal. If an award has been emailed to you, it will state 'offer sent'. To accept your award you will need to submit the Notification of Award Acceptance slip, along with a donor thank you letter if one is specified, by scanning or emailing a PDF or MS Word document or a picture attachment to awards@unbc.ca.

Ans: Yes! Housing Applications are open. You can submit an application by visiting the UNBC Housing website and clicking on “Apply for Housing”.
