The gateway for all beginning engineering students at Purdue. A student-oriented, service program, it was the first of its kind in the country and has been operating for over 50 years to recruit, advise, teach, and support Purdue engineering first-year students. Faculty and advising staff help students make the transition from high school to college, guide them in choosing an engineering discipline, and ground them in the engineering fundamentals.

Careers in Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies

Alumni work as accountants, managers of computer systems, marketing managers, CEOs, physicians, dentists, attorneys, pilots, professors—even racecar driver. Important professional attributes include communication skills, the art of self-learning, teamwork, and ethics.
