Overview:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering & Technology is designed to equip students with the skills and experience to apply principles of engineering, basic science, and mathematics in order to model, analyze, design, and realize physical systems
- Graduates will be prepared to work professionally in either thermal or mechanical systems or pursue graduate study.
- It is expected that BSME students will graduate with the following:
- Technical Competence
- Creativity and Innovation for solving real-world problems
- Professional Skills
Curriculum:
- The BSME program will admit students once per year in autumn quarter only.
- A total of 180 quarter credits are required to complete the BSME program
- Regardless of the number of mechanical engineering courses taken at another institution, at least 45 of the final 60 credits must be taken in residence at UW Tacoma
- A minimum of 30 credits of required courses for the BSME must also be taken in residence at the UW Tacoma.
