Visa Process for International Students
International applicants need to apply for a student visa to study in the USA. Applicants will require the acceptance letter and I-20 form to apply for a visa.
To be eligible to receive an I-20 from the university, in addition to the academic requirements, you must submit an acceptable certificate of finances.
The requirements of I – 20 are:
- International Student Agreement Form: It is available on the website and can be emailed
- Enrolment Form
- Bank Statements - USD 39,151
- If bank statements are not in the student’s name, a signed Statement of Support Form in the amount of USD 39,151 will be required.
- The Statement of Support Form is available on the website.
- Funds must be dated within the last 6 months and immediately liquidate
- Copy of passport
- Official IELTS/TOEFL Report
- Official GRE report, if Applicable
- Official/Attested copies of university transcripts and degree certificate
- Transfer Recommendation Form - This form is required only for those students currently studying in the United States on an F-1 Student Visa.
Following are the steps for applying for a visa:

- Pay SEVIS I-901 fee (separate from visa fee)
- Complete DS-160 online visa application
- Schedule and complete visa interview at US Embassy/Consulate

Ques. When will I receive my I-20?
Ans. Lindenwood University processes new i-20s as students become eligible. Once accepted, students will receive an email with detailed instructions to follow for the Office of Admissions and Services for International Students (OASIS) to generate an admission letter and i-20 document.
Ques. Are unofficial transcripts and test scores accepted at Lindenwood University?
Ans. Yes. Due to COVID 19 Pandemic, Lindenwood University is accepting unofficial transcripts and test scores. But the student is required to contact his/her admission counselor about this. It is better to submit electronic documents. The candidate needs to submit the official documents before the class starts.

But due to COVID-19, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) allows the student to temporarily engage in online courses. So as a full-time course student, he/she can maintain his/her F-1 visa status.
