Major emphasis is placed upon a thorough development of the critical and analytical tools of contemporary psychology so that students will become adept in formulating meaningful questions about behavior and devising valid strategies for answering those questions. These goals are pursued in a curriculum that includes both applied and research aspects of the discipline in the hope of producing well-rounded, resourceful, and well-informed graduates. Advanced students are encouraged to undertake some form of independent learning experience through seminars, tutorials, independent research, and supervised field placements.
