Pittsburg State University highly encourages international students from all over the world to apply. Applications are received for August (Fall), January (Spring) and June (Summer). It is imperative that international students apply earlier than the semester deadlines to give enough time for processing.
International students do not require to submit SAT/ACT scores. The University evaluates applicants based on the supporting documents and the minimum grade point average (GPA). International students should have an estimate of the cost of living and studying in the U.S, as they have to provide proper proof of funding to be eligible for admission.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

US Visa for International Students
International students willing to pursue their education in the USA require an F1 or J1 visa. Pittsburgh University issues the immigration documents along with the admission packet to students who have been accepted in the programs. The immigration forms (I-20/DS-2019) are required for visa application. Students can apply for the visa after payment of SEVIS Fee (Form I-901).
Students who want their I-20 to be express mailed should pay a charge of 45 USD. Other students can receive the document via air service.

Ques. What is Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)?
Ans. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is the term used to denote a student’s successful completion of coursework toward a certificate or degree. Federal regulations require the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) to monitor the progress of each student toward certificate/degree completion. Students who fall behind in their coursework, or fail to achieve minimum standards for grade point average and completion of classes, may lose their eligibility for all types of federal and state aid, and University aid administered by OSFA.

Ans. You must submit a FAFSA application for the academic year before the summer session you will attend. Also, you must submit the Summer Application for Financial Assistance along with a copy of your Summer schedule. The Summer Application will be available in the Office of Student Financial Assistant and on the university website web site around April 1st. After processing your file, you will receive a new award letter for summer aid, if you are eligible.

- Japanese students who have a minimum score of 1125 on the GTEC exam (equivalent to a 68 TOEFL).
