This Engineering - Architectural Engineering Concentration is offered by Jefferson (Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University.

Working alongside architects, architectural engineers make essential plans and designs to create buildings that function as ideal spaces to live, work, and play.

As a students in the architectural engineering concentration, you will gain specialized skills and knowledge enabling you to design and create engineered systems like the structure, lighting, and ventilation of a building. In your senior year, you will complete a capstone design project that ties together all skills learned in the program. Recently, for example, students designed a standalone outdoor lighting system and rainwater harvesting structure for Project Home, a Philadelphia-based philanthropy providing outreach, support, and services to the homeless.
