Norfolk State University International Admissions 

To apply for admission international students require extra criteria to be fulfilled in order to complete the application process.

Admission requirements

  • Official copy of transcripts
  • Official results of state or national examinations taken must be sent directly from the examination council.
  • SAT/ACT scores
  • English proficiency test scores.
  • Financial documents
  • Affidavit of Support and/or scholarship award letter.

Visa requirements for International Students

In order to get an F-1 visa, the student should be accepted by the college. The following steps should be followed by the student applying for F-1 visa:

  • Apply for an I-20 form;
  • Submit the statement of financial responsibility with supporting documents like bank statements and a letter from the bank to prove the financial ability;
  • The college will send the I-20 form via courier service;
  • Pay the $200 SEVIS fee to the Department of Homeland Security;
  • Receive further communication from the college for scheduling an interview for a visa in the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
