Lasell University Campus & Residence

Campus Location: The campus of Lasell University encompasses 54 acres within the neighborhoods of Newton, Massachusetts, 8 miles west of downtown Boston at the crossroads of Route 128 and the Massachusetts Turnpike. Lasell's location puts students within easy reach of the cultural, health care, and business opportunities of the Greater Boston area. The campus includes 58 buildings and 27 residence halls Several public transportation options are just a short walk from campus.

Student Life: With 80% of the student population residing on-campus, Lasell offers over 60 clubs and organizations and 17 varsity sports teams to become a part of. Students can also choose to dine on-campus with Starbucks and some other popular cafes in the campus. 

Lasell University On-Campus Residence

The residential community at Lasell University consists of 26 buildings: three traditional residence halls, three suite-style residence halls, five contemporary residences, and fifteen Victorian houses.

  • Traditional Residence Halls: Traditional residence halls house the majority of first-year students. They consist of doubles, triples, and in a few cases quads. These halls are co-educational by floor or wing. Three traditional halls on campus are McClelland Hall, Van Winkle Hall, and Woodland Hall. Among these Van, Winkle hall accommodates only female students.
  • Contemporary Residence Halls: These consist of quads occupancy rooms. The halls are co-educational. In most cases, hall floors are a mix of female and male students.
  • Suite Style Residence Halls: It is reserved for upper-class students. A six-person suite consists of two double rooms, two single rooms, and two bathrooms. A five-person suite consists of one triple room, one double room, and one bathroom. A four-person suite consists of two double rooms and one bathroom.
  • Victorian House: Victorian houses provide a unique on-campus living experience. It connects one with history and community. Fireplaces, crown moldings, and beautiful glasswork are just some of the unique touches that can be found throughout the Victorian era-inspired home. This house accommodates between 12 and 40 students.
