Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemical, physical or biological agents on people, animals and the environment with the goal of enhancing the overall safety and health of the public.

Coursework covers a broad range of disciplines including mechanistic toxicology, environmental toxicology, analytical toxicology, regulatory toxicology and safety assessment. Graduate students engaged in research work closely with faculty who are experts in their respective fields and have active research programs in areas such as pulmonary toxicology, neurotoxicology, analytical toxicology, environmental toxicology, renal toxicology, molecular toxicology, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals.
