The Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree provides a critical, advanced, and intellectually rigorous curriculum for 21st?century educators. Graduate students will advance their knowledge of the teaching/learning process and research-based practices, demonstrate an exemplary level of competence in all aspects of teaching, increase their knowledge of content information and materials, and show their commitment to professional excellence and leadership. This program option is intended for teachers and other educational professionals who already possess certification or licenses in their field as well as those who do not require certification or licensure.? The MSEd program is open both to school-based candidates and those who are not school-based but have an interest in pursuing one or more areas in education.?The MSEd program does not lead to a teaching license. Graduates of the MSEd

  • are called upon to design and implement new programs,
  • become leaders (e.g. coaches, mentors, curriculum specialists, education coordinators)
  • go on to doctoral programs,
  • work in education fields such as P-12 teaching, environmental education centers, museums, health education, government, recreation, and non-profits.
