This program is designed to allow students to complete an advanced degree in just one year beyond the B.S. Degree. There are two options:

  • Thesis Option: This option requires a minimum of 24 graduate course credits and a minimum of 6 thesis credits (ME 697). At least half of the credits counted toward the degree must be completed at the 600 level. A maximum of 6 non-ME credits may be counted toward the degree. This option culminates with a thesis and a successful thesis defense.
  • Non-thesis Option: This option requires a minimum of 30 graduate course credits, and also requires that the credits counted toward the degree include 3 credits of ME 645 (Structured Research Project). At least half of the credits counted toward the degree must be completed at the 600 level. A maximum of 6 non-ME credits may be counted toward the degree.

This degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
