Visa Process for International Students
International students will require a visa to study in the United States. UMKC will issue the Form I-20 only after the candidate is selected. Candidates will have to sign the form and contact the U.S Embassy in their country to apply for the F1 or J1 visa. Applicants have to pay the visa fees before beginning the document verification process.
The applicants have to submit the following during the verification process:
- I-20 and the admission letter sent by the university
- Receipt of the visa application
- Passport (should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay in the US)
