While many physics graduates go on these types of programs, many also work within research roles in sectors and industries as varied as their interests – including defense, aerospace, government, education, healthcare, energy, materials, technology, computing and IT.
Directed by Dr. Rainer Martini, the Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy & Communication Laboratory focuses on the high-speed response of new lasers and materials, as well as passive and active optical systems using ultrashort laser pulses. Researchers use the results to look for new ways and possibilities to realize ultrahigh-speed communication networks in the visible and IR-spectrum with Terahertz bandwidth and above.
