Vocal performance studies courses combine historical, theoretical, technical, physiological and psychological components of music into successful performing.

The bachelor of music in vocal performance provides students with an opportunity to perfect their skills through one-on-one instruction and performance studies. Specific courses pertaining to the study of vocal performance are supplemented by the opportunity to participate in Furman's outstanding choral ensembles.

As a member of the?National Association of Schools of Music, Furman Music is accredited to offer the Bachelor of Music degree in performance, composition, music education,? music theory and church music. You may also pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, which offers flexibility for a major/minor combo program or in some cases, a double major.? As your degree intensifies and classes become more specialized, our courses become smaller, providing more individual time to work with faculty at a deeper level.
