With these courses you may satisfy the foreign language requirement, earn credit toward a Concentration, or major and minor in German Studies. Majors will become proficient in the German language, gain knowledge of German-speaking literature, culture, and history, and engage in the critical analysis of those traditions.
The centerpiece of German Studies at Davidson is our study abroad program in Berlin, which we run in affiliation with Duke University. Open to all Davidson students, irrespective of their language proficiency, the program offers you a summer, semester, or full-year experience at one of the three main universities in Berlin. A resident director oversees the program.
On campus, the faculty are engaged in scholarship and research, but we all take an active interest in our students, past and present. Our office doors are always open, and we'd love to talk.
