The Department of Music offers a major which allows prospective music educators to earn a bachelor of arts degree in music with a concentration in music education. This program is designed for students who wish to earn Massachusetts state licensure for teaching music (all levels) within their undergraduate experience.

The Department of Music offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music, a Master of Arts in Teaching (Music) and a minor for students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. In addition, courses are offered to satisfy the university's Core Curriculum requirements. Scholarships are available to both incoming and currently enrolled students. Undergraduate music majors may choose to add the Music Education concentration, which leads to Massachusetts Initial Licensure to teach K-12 in public schools.
