Visa Process for International Students
The University issues an I-20 or DS-2019 which enables students to apply for an F-1 or J-1 visa to study in the USA . In order to do so, the University requires financial documents that include Financial Affidavit, 2022-23 cost information, and 2022-23 expense sheets, and a copy of the applicant’s ID page of the passport.

Students whose admission is confirmed will be sent a welcome packet which will include I-20 or DS-2019 and the letter confirming admission. On receiving admission confirmation, students must follow some procedures before their arrival. This includes signing I-20/ DS-2019, payment of SEVIS fee, applying for student visa and arranging their arrival at Bemidji, Minnesota.
All international applicants need to arrive at the university at least 1 week prior to the commencement of the term to attend the mandatory new international student orientation. The orientation program is conducted by the International Program Center in every fall and spring term.
