Visa Process for International Students

  • The International students need to apply for a student visa to study in the US post an application letter is issued to them.
  • International applicants must receive an I-20 Form from Spelman College and submit it with required documents.
  • To receive Form I-20, applicants need to submit the following documents:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Official letter of sponsorship
  • After completing the I-20 Form, applicants should pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • They should apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa next.
  • Submit the form and pay the application fee.

What after Acceptance at Spelman College?

Accepted students are strongly encouraged to begin completing all required steps mentioned below as early as possible to ensure timely submission.

  • Enrollment Confirmation Form and Fee: Students need to submit the enrollment confirmation form and deposit a non-refundable enrollment fee to guarantee their spot.
    • Students should locate the form in their Spell Check online portal.
    • After the submission of the form, students will be instructed on how to deposit the enrollment fees.
  • Pre-entrance Health Form: Students must submit their completed health forms; otherwise, they can’t register for the class.
  • Housing Application: Students must submit their housing application before June 1.
