Jananayak Chandrashekhar University (JNCU) Baliya offers UG, PG, Diploma and Ph.D. courses. It runs BSc, BA, and B.Com, B.Ed., LLB courses of 11, 17, 6, and 1 discipline. The PG level programs offered are M.Sc. in 15 specializations, MA with 14 disciplines, and M.Ed. with 4 disciplines courses. Ph.D. level program has 20 disciplines which are of 2 years duration.

UPSEE is the state level entrance exam and based on the score, admission is taken for respective courses.
For BSc the minimum eligibility is 10+2 from a recognised board. The eligibility for M.Sc is B.Sc degree.
For an MBA program, the candidate has to be qualified in B.Com/ B.Com. (CA) / B.Com. (E-Commerce) / B.B.A. / BBM / BBA / BBM.
Candidates are admitted to UG-level programs on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination.
Students seeking admission to PG-level courses are selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and eligibility.
Admission to PG Diploma, Diploma, and Ph.D. courses is done on the basis of the percentage scored by the candidates in the qualifying examination as per the norms of the university.
For UG programs, the candidate should hold certificates of 10+2 in the Science, Arts or Commerce group.
For PG courses, the candidate should hold a graduation degree or diploma certificate in the relevant stream.
For Integrated LL.B and LLB courses, preference will be given to the candidates with a good score in CLAT.
For M.Phil & Ph.D. courses, the university conducts its own written test followed by an interview. UGC NET/ CSIR NET or CET qualified candidates are exempted from Ph.D. entrance test.

Jananayak Chandrashekhar University is a state university established in 2016 by Government of Uttar Pradesh in Ballia, were formerly affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi offers various courses covering a variety of subjects, at the postgraduate as well as doctorate level for ARTS stream.

Selection Process

The 12th exam results are taken for consideration. Only students who have done their higher secondary in Uttar Pradesh are eligible for applying for UPSEE.
On the basis of student’s performance in JNCU exam, they will be taken as for admission for BA, B.Sc., B.Com, B.Ed. course.
NET or CET exams are considered for B.Ed. courses.

JNCU and PG Diploma Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must fulfil the following criteria to be deemed eligible for admission to most of the PG courses offered by the university:
Candidates should have passed with a minimum 45% aggregate in marks at the undergraduate level from any recognized university in the country. The course must have been in a related field, and the viability of an acquired degree in terms of its applicability to the subject of the Master’s degree is at the discretion of the University.
A relaxation may be given to reserved categories as per the regulations of the Government.
For the M.Ed. degree, a B.Ed. degree is preferable, though a BA with education related fields may be highly accepted.
In case of Biochemistry, a minimum of 60% aggregate is required at the undergraduate level to apply.
For M.Sc. programmes, Science stream with related subjects must have been a part of the curriculum at the undergraduate level.

JNCU PG and PG Diploma Selection Process:

The selection process varies depending on the course applied for.
The candidates either are offered the seats on a first come first serve basis depending on merit or based on the entrance examination conducted by the University.
The JNCU is an eligibility entrance exam for the exam and the candidates are selected based on the marks scored in the exam.

JNCU Ph.D. Admission 2023

The University offers Ph.D. courses in almost all the university departments with more than 15 specializations being offered. The general eligibility for admission to the research programs is a post-graduate degree in a related discipline. The University conducts a Common Entrance Test for admission to the research programs, followed by a personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the following criteria to be deemed eligible for admission to this university.
The candidate should have passed a Master’s level degree with a minimum 55% aggregate from any recognized university.
A 5% relaxation is given to reserved categories as per the regulations of the Government.
The course must have been in the subject applied for in the university or in a related field as accepted by the university.
Certain candidates may be exempted from the entrance examination, by virtue of them clearing prominent examinations such as NET or the equivalent.
NET, CET is considered for M.Ed. eligibility.

Selection Process

The selection process is based mainly on the performance in the entrance examination conducted by the University.
The entrance test consists of questions covering general areas, as well as subject specific and research oriented questions.
Candidates who obtain satisfactory marks in this entrance test may also have to participate in a personal interview.
The final merit list is based on a cumulative grading of performance in the entrance examination, personal interview, and the qualifying degree scores (Master’s level).
The college accepts both online and offline for all the courses and Ph.D. courses have interview.

Exemption from the written test:

Ph.D. degree holders need not appear for the common entrance test, however they will be required to appear for the interview.

UGC/ CSIR-UGC NET/ SLET is the exam. Those candidates shall be directly admitted to the doctoral program through interview.
